He goes through a lot of assistants. I don't think Saban is a genius picking coaches. I think he has such a handle on the process that the individual coaches have a smaller effect on the whole than at other places.

Just OC's I suspect that is because he is more heavily involved in the defense and he and Smart are on the same page. To be honest more coaches should make changes every so often or things get stale.

Would be smart for Lane, as Alabama assistants aren't allowed to speak to the press and he won't be able to make an ass of himself.

The problem there is that Kiffin doesn't follow rules.

With parents of recruits visiting Alabama coach Nick Saban’s house this past weekend (did you see Saban doing the electric slide?), Kiffin performed Lynryd Skynryd’s “Sweet Home Alabama” on karaoke with the mother of Alabama commitment Bo Scarbrough.

“I think if you’re new there, you have to do karaoke,” Donetris Scarbrough told BamaOnline.com. “It’s kind of the theme with the new coaches. Everyone has to do a karaoke night. It was his turn and he kept on hiding. He told me, ‘I think I’ll go ahead and do it, if you sing with me.’ He told me it would make it easier and be fun. We tried to figure out what song we would do first. He said ‘come on up here and do it with me, I don’t want to do it by myself.’ “
