Not a big fan of a possible Kiffin hire. Dont know why but I hate the little rat bastard, although it wouldnt be bad looking at the piece of ass(his wife) he would bring with him.

Bama defense didn't give up 41 points to OU. The offense gave OU 14 points by way of turnovers, did you even watch the game?

Alabama got reemed in the ass with that OC trade-off. Orgeron's got a better offensive mind than Kiffin. Alabama could have saved whatever they end up forking out and let Saban call the plays. Alabama's loss is Michigan's gain, however. No complaints here. :yahoo:

And yea, I watched the game, Bubba. Trevor Knight torched the shit out of that Alabama defense. I suppose when 517 yards of offense and 4 TDs isn't enough, pout and cut loose from your OC? Do you want to blame the freak Auburn loss and A&M shootout on Nuss too? Has anybody mentioned the Alabama OLine broke-in 3 starters this year and broke offensive records last season. Guddamn moron.

Michigan will pay 2x Nussmeier's base salary and give him complete control of the offense. Those sound like pretty damn good reasons to leave.

You're right its not enough when all you do is pass when should you be running! His problem was the play calling and that's what Bama didn't like! But damn y'all are too stubborn to understand that basic concept! Play calling play call play calling. I don't know how many times Bama fans have to say it but his play calling was the problem.

OU owned our defense in the first half, not the second Bubba. The defense stepped up and gave the offense plenty of chances to score and Nuss scored twice? He abandons the run? He calls pass play after pass play after pass play? He doesn't run one play action pass?

Against A&M last year on our last drive he runs the ball (what we wanted) all the way down the field and gets us into the redzone. So what does he call? Run? No. He calls 4 pass plays with 5 freakin yards to go. And what happens, interception to end the game. Play calling. Wish em nothing but the best.

comments from Trojan fans on USC forums regarding the possibility of Kiffin to Bama:

it would be awesome! He is like inserting a virus into the SEC hard drive. It would be a meltdown! What a blast that would be.

There is a god! I so hope this happens.

Hiring Lame guarantees downgrade of Bama, I cannot believe Saban would even consider it --- EXCEPT they have the same agent and there is some hidden quip pro quo we do not know about

Too pass happy, and not the good kind of passes. Bama will hate him.

How on earth can anybody look at Barkley's last year and the first part of this year and say "Yep, Kiffin is a good OC".

I think a lot of people failed to realize he was calling the plays when we had an anemic offense even with the offensive weapons we had. The offensive numbers we put up after he left were night and day.

I still don't see what credibility anybody thinks LK has as an OC. He had a stacked offense in 05. Every starter on offense went to the NFL and they were mostly upper classmen.

it's hard to judge him as an OC based on the 2005 team, because that team would've made anyone look good. also, Kiffin wasn't the only OC, he was co-OC with Sark

All disadvantaged groups must be represented in the interviewing process, and since 2003, "morons" have officially been added to that list....hence Kiffin will go through the process as a token member of that group.

Maybe Saben needs someone to get the coffees.

who in their right mind would ever hire Lane Kiffin

Kiffin is going there for recruiting. Nothing else

answer me this...Do we really think Nick wants him there for his X's and O's or more for recruiting purposes?

Sabah is no dummy, Lane is a great recruiter and will sure up that Florida pipeline for Bama. I think it makes for an interesting hire and Kiffin would have no other responsibilities

Roll Tide Roll, ha! LK will be assigned to ball pressure duty and carrying Saban's jock.

I think Lane and Nick share the same agent. This could be a ploy to get interest from other schools in employment for Lane. "Hey Nick, get our guy and interview so that everybody thinks...if Nick is interested, maybe we all should be."

USC fans responding to a Bama fan who asked them what they thought of Kiffin as an OC-only:

I think Lane will be a good OC for you. You have an OL that make your run game work, then Lane's offense works best off play action. If the run game is stalled and the play action is therefore not respected, then Lane will resort to the bubble screens and down 10 yards and out patterns which become predictable and the CBs jump those routes. Offense is stalled. But, given your OL and the run game being able to work his offense will fall into place.

Hope you like not scoring in second halves, bubble screens, terrible third down conversion rates, soft goal line offense, and 260 pound fullbacks sprinting towards the sidelines.

he will overthink things and overlook obvious talent advantages while searching for small, schematic advantages. Frequently plays "not to lose" instead of playing to win. We had some great TEs, but they were criminally under-utilized. He has had issues with trust--both position coaches and non-elite players...with devastating effects on the field and in the lockerroom. With Saban directing/mentoring him, I think he can grow into a top level OC. He has shown glimpses

His playcalling has been inconsistent. I would expect LK to learn under Saban's tutelage - but LK so far has been a mixed bag. One thing he really needs to work on is scouting his own tendencies. It got to the point where I could, in all honesty, correctly predict multiple plays in a row ... or at least narrow it down to 2. The running joke was everytime Marqise Lee came out of the game it was a run play, mostly because everytime Marqise Lee came out of the game it was a run play. Where he will be most valuable to Alabama is as a recruiter (there isn't a better recruiter in the country - look at our star average for the class of 2013). Further, his work ethic is second to none and he will grind himself into the ground day in and day out while working for Alabama. I will also say much of his poor reputation is unfairly deserved, but prepare to hear about "KiffEn" being the world's worst human being at least twice a week so long as he is in your employ.

I can't see him going uptempo. He seems to take forever to call a play. When he's clicking on offense, look out. But when he gets conservative, it will drive you to drink. He will be a fantastic recruiter, especially with Florida kids.

He can be a dynamic playcaller, particularly when things are going his way and he's able to get the team rolling. On the other hand, he gets into his own head way too much, particularly when things are not going well, and he becomes overly conservative. He also has not done a great job at making in-game adjustments.

I'm definitely not a Lane Kiffin fan by any means.... But the guy can coach an offense. But there are some other names out there too. Freddie Kitchens (former Alabama QB & a damn good pitcher for the Tide)
and even Rick Neuheisel..... Although I think Neuheisel is far fetched.

^^^This^^^

Kiffin wasn't a problem until he became a head coach. When he was our OC, he kept his fool mouth shut, coached up our qb's and ran our offense. He is at his best when that's all he has to do.

With the OL that 'Bama has every year and the offensive talent that Kiffin can recruit at the skill positions, 'Bama could end up with a pretty damn good offense.
