he had LeClown on his roster in a weak eastern conference...

PROVE to me he can coach...

and no, "getting in LeClown's face isn't proof...
I don't think 2016 Finals were in the East. Played a pretty good team with no home court and won. was it all him? Of course not, but also the only time Cavs and GS played with similar level of talent.

Lakers being cheap on a coach is something new. They should've anted up more per year to make up for the shorter contract if Lue is indeed their guy. Maybe that still happens (it's not like Lue has other offers at this point). The other options being reported aren't exactly enticing. If Lue sticks to his demand for 5 years, that could be a deal breaker.
I think Hollins or Vogel could work out.

Different circumstances. Walton was given that deal to bring the kids along, before Lebron was a possibility. Lue is now in demand to work with Lebron, who's contract is up in 3 years (could retire, extend, leave....who knows). The window is much different.
Lebron could actually go after 2 years.

i mean, depends on what happens.

If they sink there money into a 30 year old Jimmy Butler- and give butler a 4 year deal......at the end of 2 years Butler will be entering his year 33 season....LeBron will be an FA.

could def. see him jumping ship at that point

now if they sign like Kawhi Leonard to a long term deal- different situation. All depends on what they add around leBron. They have him for at least 2 more years. If they keep going like they have though- itll only be the 2 more years and the whole era will be a spectacular failure.

Lue would have hired Vogel to be his #1 assistant. Lue handling the personalities and day to day and Vogel handling the defense.

That would have been a strong staff.

But Lakers got cheap and tried to force Jason Kidd on Lue.

Sure...I'm not saying he will leave, just pointing out he has a player option after 20-21.

He isn't turning down the last year on the deal. That's a lot of cash.
A good point. I did think he could be considered overpaid by year 3 or 4.

According to some Cavs fans he's already declining.....shouldn't say for sure but it's highly unlikely he would opt for FA and decline the final year. Even for the uber rich, it 's a lot.

dj sometimes you amaze me that you have been around me for so long but are still so clueless as to how the economics of the NBA work.

Unless LeBron has a catastrophic injury its practically GUARANTEED he opts out of the last year, if only to sign a new contract.

Unless he is rehabbing all year with a torn achilees, or his game goes to complete shit, there is no effen way he picks up that player option.

one of the absolute dumbest things you have ever posted and thats saying a lot

the ONLY way he picks up that option is if he has a catastrophic injury or his skills go to shit.

He is going to give up what.....40 mill to sign for 10-12 mill since he isn't going to be anywhere close to an MVP James?

Stop it. You just are living in Fantasy Land where he goes to the Cavs for a 3rd tour.

You have been LOL at the Lakers ever since he signed with them because you said he's no longer the same player and by year 3 he's going to be toast.

I only see him ever leaving LA (barring a trade) to play with his son, and think that would be after year 4.
