Can you imagine the screaming, crying and gnashing of teeth (especially from Turnup, Mont and Crotch) if they got the #1 pick? The resultant meltdowns would burn down the internet!! :becky:

Actually I want the Lakers to be relevant again. I'd love to see Lebron show Kobe how its done in the championship. Why wont Kobe lead the Lakers to the Finals so the Heat can mop them up in 4?

Putting the Lakers within playoff contention is an exercise out of hope and pity. Portland, Utah and even Dallas have a bettwr chance for the final spot than the Lakers. If Nash is allowed to distribute the ball as he should then maybe. But if Kobe handles the ball primarily then it becomes a different story. Unless someone other than kobe becomes the primary scoring threat, the rest of the subservient Laker roster will simply pass the ball to kobe out of fear and that is asking for another injury.

Kobe was ready, ESPN was ready with the puppets, but Lebron and the Cavs kept choking.

The Cavs never had a championship roster.
The NBA wanted the matchup, but it wasn't realistic.
And before you start with the regular season records, etc.. please remember that the same Celtics team that beat the Cavs was the same one that so many of you Laker fans said would beat the Heat when then acquired the Big 3.
If you felt the Heat Big 3 couldn't beat those Celts, then how could you expect that Cavs roster to beat them?

The Lakers were back to back champs when the Heat acquired James.

It was at that point where the matchup seemed much more realistic.

We all know the rest of the story since then.

Exactly. Cavs had back to back 60 win season and home court advantage in the EAST, but Lebronze choked both years. That was a great, great, Cavs team, except for the fact that Lebron chokes come playoff time every year.

That's why Lebron ran to a team STACKED with Superstars, Allstars, Sharp shooters, and great role players.

Lebron without multiple superstars/allstars = zero rings.

Lebron with multiple superstars/allstars = 2 rings

Do the math.

"If you felt the Heat big 3 couldn't beat those Celts..." What the fuck are you talking about. Who said the Heat big 3 couldn't beat a bunch of washed up 36 year old players? You're a moron....And who the hell is "you"...LOL

What a loser.

Sman, would you care to make a prediction of how the Lakers will do this season? What do you think of the roster?

Ok give me a sec to review it.....Ok, took a look up and down, and they stink. All the key players are either old, injured, slow, soft or washed up. Defenisvely this team is in big trouble. Considering Kobe's a big question mark with his injury I put the over/under on wins at about 36.....

Last years team had Dwight Howard, and a healthy Kobe, and Jamison off the bench and they barely made the playoffs. If Kobe gets this team into the playoffs he's unanamous Mvp.

Sorry Laker fans, but that's the truth. I'll still root for them to win every game, but Just keeping it real.

Peace

I am not sure Kobe gets MVP honors if he takes this team to the playoffs but it definitely means he came back really good. I think it also would mean D12 was a problem and they are now coming together.

If Kobe can take this team to Finals is he the GOAT? Or does he need to get the ring. He gets the ring = he is the greatest.

Moot point because the Lakers aren't going to the Finals.

BOTSLAYER,

You might want to remove that signature of yours. Your proving the point of the average Laker fan that LeBron's fans are obsessed with Kobe and the Lakers. There's no reason to be because everyone knows the Lakers are over the hill. It's the perfect definition of beating a dead horse.

Montsho's favorite punchline it that us Heat Haters are insecure about our own star's legacy being threatened by LeBron. But, doesn't it go both ways considering Heat fans are so focused on the Lakers and Kobe???

It's threads like this that promote lunatic threads and responses. Or, perhaps you just want the attention???

Why does montsho want a Kobe/LeBron Finals???

Is it because he's insecure about his player's legacy if he doesn't beat Kobe in a Playoff series?

I think they could make the Playoffs if Kobe stays healthy for the full season. But at his age, I'm not so confident that's going to happen.

And dude, there are plenty of Laker fans on this board. Let them create the threads about their team. Or, if you cared about the Lakers that much, they have their own team message board. Otherwise, you kind of look obsessed. Don't beat this team to the ground.

intrigued by some of the moves but some of this seems like too little too late. nick young, wes Johnson are then kinda players they have needed several years ago to take pressure of kobe....more often than not kobe goes to bench and any lead lakers have evaporates. maybe im overrating who they have brought in but I think you have a player or 2 who can go 1-1 and score...if we get 20 + points out of nick young its all worthwhile.

Really we are counting on Steve Nash being healthy. Otherwise it's D'Antoni without the player they originally brought him here for again.

Celtics won't be making the playoffs for a long time. And you guys think the Celtics will be winning 50+ in 2014/2015? :laugh3:

Celtics rebuilding phase probably won't be that long, though the 1st half of this season could be ugly.

My team is at least getting on with something they couldn't avoid much longer. And they got rid of a LOUSY,
past-his-prime, basketball dimbulb who should never have been signed by them to begin with.

Jason Terry is very nearly the antithesis of a classic, SMART Celtics player. I am very glad that bleep
is no longer wearing my team's uniform.

When Rondo and Sullinger get healthy, LOOK OUT!
