ANUSTART
They announced about 1.5 weeks ago they were going to exercise his team option.
Which doesn't mean anything other than him becoming a RFA. It was a qualifying offer. They could have rescinded it after the Calderon trade.

Huertas just posted on IG that he is back for two more seasons. I don't get this signing considering they just traded for Calderon.
It's a dumb move. He's not very good to begin with and we've got enough PGs with Russell and Calderon (plus Clarkson or even Williams if need be). A bigger guard that play 2 or 3 is of much greater need.
Doesn't preclude them from getting a 2/3 swingman, still have 1-2 spots open (2 once they get around to kicking Spazzy to the curb).
PG: Russell, Calderon, Huertas
SG: Clarkson, Williams, TBD
SF: Deng, Ingram, Brown
PF: Randle, Nance, TBD
C: Mozgov, Black, Zubac
Alan Anderson and Derrick Williams? Or possibly someone shakes out of Summer League?

As it stands now, they are roughly $5mil short of the floor.
Jabari Brown at SG would be my choice
Is that counting Ingram's and Zubac's salaries?
I wouldn't mind Jovanovic, Auguste, or Minnerath getting a shot at one of those spots either. Can't wait for Summer League tonight...
Zubac signed for $1.03mil. I estimated Ingram's at $5.1mil, Huertas at $1.1mil, and Mozgov at $15mil.
Pincus tweeted that Deng's contract is $18mil for year 1 and $17.2mil for year two, and Clarkson at $12.5mil for year 1 and $11.6mil for year 2.
Russell (5.3)
Calderon (7.7)
Huertas (1.1)
Clarkson (12.5)
Williams (7.0)
Young (5.4)
Ingram (5.1)
Deng (18)
Brown (0.87)
Randle (3.3)
Nance (1.2)
Mozgov (15)
Black (6.2)
Zubac (1.03)
So, $89.7mil currently.
I wish someone would trade a conditional 2nd rounder in 2033 or the draft rights for Borat Sagdiyev for Nick Young...
What no Sacre this year?
What no Sacre this year?
There continues to be a negative sentiment toward Short Buss and Kobe. It is encapsulated in this article. I disagree with the summation though.
Letters: As Lakers' off-seasons go, this one's already way off
Well. I think they took the Claderon trade because it includes a veteran backcourt presence and 2 future second rounders to take the contract off the hands of the Bulls. Now we are loaded at the guard position with Clarkson, Russell, Heurtas, Calderon, Williams, and... ...did I miss anybody?
