If we have Mosgov as a starter and Black and Zubac to back him up, Sacre will be no longer needed.

Yeah.....I'm liking their depth.

If Mozgov misses 15 or so games.....Black and Zubac can fill in nicely and get some experience.

And if Russell misses 10 or so games......Calderon can fill in nicely as a starter temporarily. Huertas is best suited as a backup for 13-15mpg.

It's a dumb move. He's not very good to begin with and we've got enough PGs with Russell and Calderon (plus Clarkson or even Williams if need be). A bigger guard that play 2 or 3 is of much greater need.

Honestly, I was hoping we'd get a backup SG....

Sacre is looking at a 2 year deal worth 6-8 million based off the contracts I've seen this offseason.

Doesn't preclude them from getting a 2/3 swingman, still have 1-2 spots open (2 once they get around to kicking Spazzy to the curb).

PG: Russell, Calderon, Huertas
SG: Clarkson, Williams, TBD
SF: Deng, Ingram, Brown
PF: Randle, Nance, TBD
C: Mozgov, Black, Zubac

Alan Anderson and Derrick Williams? Or possibly someone shakes out of Summer League?

Williams signed a 1 year deal worth 5 million with the Heat. Black will get some minutes at backup PF also.

Has Nick Young been flushed off the roster yet or are we just assuming he will be?

Oh, I agree.....just saying what he'll probably get based on what I've seen this summer.

These are the guys who are on the roster right now. It doesn't include Ingram at the moment because he's technically not signed yet, nor does it have the figures for Clarkson, Deng, Mosgov and Zubac:

These are the salaries of Los Angeles Lakers players this season

Edit: just noticed Tarik Black and Huertas aren't on there either

Looks like there are 14 players in total, leaving room for just one more (two if they get rid of Swaggy)

They could go with just 14 or sign 1 of the guys off the summer league (always a possibility) or sign another veteran. I was hoping we'd get a backup SG after we got Mozgov, re-signed Clarkson, and got Deng.

I think Auguste will at least get a training camp invite, could be in play for that 3rd PF. Not a stretch guy, but an effort player. Jabari hasn't shown too much yet in the summer league, but could be in a similar situation.

kid seems to be an energy/hustle player. admittedly a small chance to make the season roster imo, but I DO like his enthusiasm...

The more I look at this trade, the more I like it. We got Calderon who is willing to go to the bench, his veteran presence will be good for the youngsters, and we get two second round draft choices to boot. I especially like the last of this list. Chicago was really desperate to clear cap space and Mitch has learned pretty well to seize the opportunity when presented.

This is the first time the roster has looked this well rounded in years. They might actually win a couple of games.

lookin' good so far. now i'm kinda waiting to see if Nick Young gets the golden boot. that'd leave 2 roster spots open and they could determine who'd fit in. agree with you on how the roster's looking though...ESPECIALLY if the kids on the roster continue to improve. nice to develop young talent and these guys definitely have potential...

lol gonna enjoy my next copy of 2K17 for my playstation...:heh:

I have a feeling Mitch is still going to wield his magic wand and come up with a GREAT trade that doesn't involve the young core.
