Interesting news but I think something where the sting won't last long at all.

Owner of the pacers contemplating suing the Lakers. Would love to read the under oath deposition transcripts of those involved.

I agree. That penalty will hardly deter them from doing it again.

Ya know, at the time of pre-draft workouts Ball made it very clear that he would not work out for the celtcs who held the number one pick. He would only work out for the Lakers. Given this conviction for tampering in the George case one has to wonder if the Lakers also had a hand in Ball not working out for the celtics.

Pretty sure that was Lavar's doing. Lonzo is from LA. Very easy to see what happened there. No fault of the Lakers.

I would tend to agree but given the character of the team which was exposed in the George matter they may have still done something just to be sure. Think belt and suspenders!

That would not be tampering though, because Ball was not under contract with another team.

The Lakers could have told him they were 100% certain to draft him at 2 if he was there. And they are allowed to that.

Ball did work out for Philly though, so the reality is that his decison not to work out for Boston has everything to do with their roster crunch and nothing to do with the Lakers doing something shady.
