If the Lakers had hired Phil Jackson Dwight Howard right now would be Lakers and not a Rockette

I think their best bet is try for a top 3 pick in the lottery. Yes, they might generate more revenue by making the playoffs, but you gotta look at the big picture which is the future. If you get a great young prospect in the draft, then that may sway younger FA's to sign there. Especially a young up-n-coming Paul George. Don't think many vets want to come to a rebuilding team with just aging Kobe and Nash.

Im glad you are not the GM of the Lakers because the Lottery is not the "best" bet. A youngster panning out becoming a star is 50/50 in any sport. The best bet, is to pry players from other teams who have already gone through the growing pains and have proven they have NBA level ability. Like you mentioned a Paul George. This is why they can attempt to make the playoffs this year and attract young players selling on the vision, you are the last piece missing to put us over the hump next year.

Im not saying you cant build through the draft but its not the best bet. their is no guarantee a lottery pick will be a NBA star.

Geneh_33. Josh Smith signed with Detroit!

Tell me about it. And Jeff Teague is going to Milwaukee.

The Hawks are not going to the playoffs next year, they are going to suck. Horford can't win games by himself.

Monta Ellis just signed with the Mavs so we have NO PG. And please don't tell me about Brandon Jennings because I'll just get out a fiddle for you if you do.
