Warriors to extend Riley's deal, hire assistant GM

WARRIORS: Warriors GM Larry Riley To Be Retained As GM/Executive VP Of Basketball Operations

Apparently, it is going to be a 2-year deal, but those sources have not been confirmed.

One talking point - last night Steinmetz pointed out that new assistant GM Bob Myers is an agent and currently represents DeAndre Jordan. He's going to have to give up his job as an agent to work in the Warriors' front office, but the connection is still there. Jordan is a FA. Just sayin'

Good point, Cam, about DeAndre Jordan. His athleticism alone would be a tremendous asset for the Warriors at the 5 spot.

Larry Riley getting the extension was no surprise - I think we talked about this earlier. Smart looks to be gone but you never know. It's going to be hard to make some moves with the impending lockout coming up.
