The problem with Coach Schottenheimer is come playoff time he always got super conservative, I remember those Chiefs teams being power houses in the 90's, but once the playoff started he just didn't open up the offense at all, he would go into super conservative mode.. Also, one year I think it was 97 when Rich Gannon had the Chiefs ROLLING into the post season and Schottenheimer benched him for Grbac, I"m not even a Chiefs fan but I was like WTF is this guy crazy ? Gannon was on fire ...

I remember...:L

THANK YOU for finally saying what we've all known for so long.

NEVER should have fired Marty. LT was never a selfish player. That's such a bullshit copout.

Was he sitting on a bench pouting like he has been known to do, when he said this?

I really did not realize how sour people were about LT... It's kinda mind blowing.

It comes with greatness. Then you add in the fact that LT does quite a bit of talking he is a prime target for people.

He was an an incredibly humble dude who didn't do any talking so once he piped up and said one or two little things it was magnified times ten.

It wasn't so much how much he talked but when he talked. The whining after losing to the Patriots was a very bad look and then when he went to the Jets just some of his comments could easily be taken wrong as some swings at the Chargers and their FO. So more just what he said than how much he actually talked.

Then interviews like this don't help. Maybe they could have won a Super Bowl if this or that happened. I'm sure plenty of players feel that way. To me I would pin them not winning a Super Bowl more on the fact that when they were good the Patriots were a true dynasty. There were just some great teams throughout that stretch and the Chargers just didn't have the breaks go their way in the playoffs.

He should just wear a shirt that say's " I'm haunted by my own failures."

It would be easier.

Yeah we know - CT is a very classy & humble person, because he said so.

It's not one or two "little" things when the Chargers' GM and Owner have to respond to it - now he's back at it 8 years later, with a revisionist's twist.

Dude, wake up, he's still complaining 8 years later.... and no, the GM didn't cost them a championship. The GM and coach put the players in a position to compete for one... that's all you can ask for. But this knucklehead wants to lay it all at the feet of AJ Smith. When you're being considered for the HOF it's amazing what one or two "little" things will do for your chances.

I'm too busy having a meltdown over Husker recruiting to be worried about this. I concede whatever points all of you make.

Shaun Alexander was an amazing RB and didn't win a Superbowl. Does that mean it's Mike Holmgren's or the General Managers fault? That's just the way the breaks go.

It was Holmgren's fault that Alexander didn't get the rushing title one year, just needing 1 yard

Bloody hail, before McCloughan got the gig Washington was intrested in AJ. The sad part is it would have been an upgrade over the then regime. :L
