Gurley getting hit 2 yards behind the line of scrimmage is a worse problem especially through the either side of the center when he gets the ball. I know LT is a problem but the OL starts center out, just ask Ryan when Mack came to town.

Looks like the RBs coach, Skip Peete from the Fisher days stays with the team according to an USA Today article. Sean McVay should have hired Marshall Faulk or ED for that coaching spot. Better yet, the FO and Demoff should step in and fire Snead and hire ED as the new GM.

Skip Peete is staying with Los Angeles Rams as the running back coach

Obviously Gurley likes the guy...Like the article says, can't blame the coach when the O-line can't block for crap...

Report: Rams To Hire Former Saints Interim Head Coach As Offensive Line Coach

Aaron Kromer will now be tasked with helping out one of the more scrutinized parts of the Rams. The former Saints interim head coach and longtime offensive line coach is expected to become the Rams’ O-line boss, Alden Gonzalez of ESPN.com reports.

This could be categorized as the last attempt to coax the most out of underperforming tackle Greg Robinson, who saw himself become a game-day inactive late during the season after three seasons of play not indicative of a No. 2 overall pick. But the Rams have used seven picks on offensive linemen in the past three years and haven’t seen much return.

The franchise’s debut seasons in Los Angeles resulted in one of the worst offensive performances in years; the Rams ranked 32nd in offense (262.7 yards per game) and trailed the No. 31-ranked 49ers by more than 45 yards. Top weapon Todd Gurley struggled to find the kind of running room he did as a rookie. Kromer is in line to replace veteran Paul Boudreau.

The 49-year-old Kromer has coached offensive lines since 2002, beginning with the AFC champion Raiders before moving on to the Buccaneers, Saints and Bills. The Saints tabbed Kromer to be their interim head coach for six games to start the Bountygate-marred ’12 season, and the Bears used Kromer for two years as their offensive coordinator under Marc Trestman. He spent the past two years with the Bills under Rex Ryan.

In Buffalo, though, the Greg Roman- and Anthony Lynn-led offenses thrived behind their run game. Kromer oversaw Richie Incognito’s comeback season in 2015 and saw the Bills lead the league by nearly 15 yards in rushing offense this season after finishing first in that area in 2015. Kromer’s line helped Buffalo to a 5.3-yards-per-carry average last season — a half-yard better than the ’15 Bills’ work.

Thus far....

HC - Sean McVay
OC -
QBC - Greg Olson
RBC- Skip Peete (Holdover)
OLC- Aaron Kromer
DC - Wade Phillips
LB/AHC - Joe Barry
STC - John Fassel (Holdover)

This coaching staff is coming along nicely, defiantly an upgrade.

Seems to leave Trestman as the leading candidate for OC (Kromer had been rumored there as well).

Gurley said in an interview today that some players in key positions just gave up when they could see the season was over. They made too many mistakes including him he said. He refuses to blame the coaches but how did the team get into a lost season situation so early in the season if it wasn't the coaching and play calling? But If Gurley likes the guy then keeping him is the right thing to do.

A guy who worked with McVay and Kyle is the ideal OC choice for what they are putting together. Young guys are gonna innovators which is what the Fisher squad missed dearly

Well, the Falcons just hired Steve Sarkisian (points and laughs at Saban) away from Alabama to be their OC, so LaFleur is freed up to interview and potentially join the Rams as OC.

Los Angeles Rams

    • Coach: Sean McVay
    • Grade: B
When the Rams started their search, it seemed certain the plan was to "win the press conference" and try to generate some headlines in Los Angeles by hiring a big-name head coach. If the right guy was grabbed, great, but just pulling the trigger on a big name just to make a splash would be a nightmare. Instead, the Rams went in the other direction, hiring a fairly unknown commodity in Sean McVay but also creating some ripples by bringing in the youngest head coach in NFL history. McVay, who is 30, was born the same year that "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" was released.

Oddly enough, there's only one guy on the roster -- High Point, North Carolina's own William Hayes -- who is older than McVay. That's good news in terms of being able to relate to a young roster for McVay.

Also good news: He has had success with a young quarterback, generating two productive seasons out of Kirk Cousins. Say what you want about his play in big spots this season, but Cousins put up huge stats the past two years and is about to get paid.

Sean McVay becomes the youngest head coach in NFL history at 30. USATSI

If the Rams can get McVay to work that magic on Jared Goff, they'll be in good shape. There's offensive talent to work with too, particularly in the form of Todd Gurley. Defensively, under Wade Phillips, the Rams should improve and McVay gets the bonus of being given a guy with decades of experience.

The Rams should be patient here too, because of the timeline for the new stadium. McVay doesn't need to win big early as long as he can manage to put up some points and draw in some crowds.

Grading the NFL coaching hires: Rams, Bills get high marks, but Shanahan trumps all

They say that Shanahan trumps all but he is late to the party to get his coaching staff together.

It will be interesting to see what moves he makes with the left overs and sech.
