Stan Kroenke purchased 60 acres in L.A. In 2012, apparently. This tidbit of information has just been publicly disclosed.

Did Kroenke do this to put pressure on improvements to the Edward Jones Stadium, to eventually move the team back to LA, or was it simply an investment in prime real estate.

Frankly, I think the day will come when Kroenke moves the team back to L. A.. The NFL needs a team in L.A. and the Rams would seem to be a fit.

What do you all think?

Silas - I agree that our beloved Rams will be back in Los Angeles. Ownership looks to be as stable (wealthy) as ever!

Its called smart business. If St. Louis/Missouri decides to play "hardball" on a new stadium, Kroenke can just point to his new land in LA and realistically threaten a move.

2 projects are clear to go & ready to start shoveling. One stadium project is in the City Of Industry & the other at LA Live next to Staples Center, but teams need to sign on the dot before any construction to begin. So far that I know of, the plan is to bring two NFL teams to LA.

Man, if I had the money to buy 60 acres just to scare people. I can see the move happening. I haven't heard anything about EJD being improved and time is ticking.

If you look at an areial view of the land there is no way you could build a stadium on that.

Hope the link worked I'm on my phone. But that's the site u will find it.

throw in the closed racetrack adjacent to it and it might have traction....

On May 9, 2013 in a letter to employees, Hollywood Park president F. Jack Liebau announced that the track would be closing at the end of their fall racing season in 2013. In the letter, Liebau stated that the 260 acres on which the track sits "now simply has a higher and better use," and that "in the absence of a favorable change in racing's business model, the ultimate development of the Hollywood property was inevitable." It is expected that the track will be demolished and replaced by housing units, park land and an entertainment complex, while the casino will be renovated. It is also anticipated that Hollywood Park's racing dates from 2014 onward will be transferred to Santa Anita Park, Los Alamitos Race Course and Del Mar Racetrack.

Not sure exactly what is going to happen, but remember Kroenke is a majority owner of Walmart and he stated, back in 2012 that this land was for a Walmart Supercenter. However, with Hollywood Park closing, he may rethink that. My fingers are crossed... I guess we need to wait and see.

Nah, that land is going to be the new home of the Rams. Just kidding. Kroneke is taking the team back to LA. I am pretty sure that is what is occurring. I am fairly certain that Kroneke has had enough of St Louis. Nothing has been done in St. Louis and he is one year away from the lease being expired. No discussions are underway to renew it and the City of St Louis has done little. So, my friend in LA believes the same that the Rams will be returning to LA after the 2014 season.

A lot of what is going on with suggestions being floated about a casino and entertainment park in that land, (yada, yada, yada) is just like the smokescreens that go on every year around the draft. Just a lot of diversionary stuff to tell people in polite way to mind their own damn business. Kroneke is secretive enough and this is going to serve him well in this next move. We shall see.

Well luckily it's not up go Kroenke it's up to the nfl and the owners and they don't want the rams to move. We will build a new stadium here in a couple years.

I'll betcha the NFL/ owners would vote yes on this supposively proposal in a heartbeat. LA would be building a State of the Art facility in a high revenue area. Why wouldnt the owners not want this? All speculation though, could be a Walmart going in.

The owners benefit greatly with la not having a team. It's every owners leverage - not just the Rams. If an owner threatened to relocate to stl, they wouldn't be taken all that seriously but threatening to go to la? The owners get what they want
