Haven't read about this anywhere else but TFP reporting Kovalchuk is willing to waive his NMC to go to a contender and the Kings are willing to retain partial salary depending on the deal.
If it's true Blake just got a potential mulligan on this deal with a lesser penalty than it normally would be and he should be actively shopping him.
I like what he has brought to the team and in a different year he would have been a solid addition even at his age but LA needs to get younger and. cheaper to be legitimate.
Slick Willy has really mismanaged this roster, including Kovalchuk, although that isn't the sole reason for this disaster of a season. Get something for him, accept the mistake of overestimating your team and move on.
