There's no battle going on. Tlance knows what he's talking about. Pasta on the other hand. Well he thinks all of the Brickabockers issues were only because of Fizdale.
Never said this, you know it, t lance knows it , the whole world knows it!

Now back in the water shamu

Again, there is nothing in this thread I have been wrong about. Not one thing.

Even called the day , Fizzdales demise!

you guys love this game so blindly , you choose to believe in analytics over common sense.

Well actually you did say it, last season. But keep telling yourself otherwise. You're running neck & neck with that doofus wiggyruss as far as being one of the most full of shit posters in the NBA threads. Congrats.

not sure anyone believes in analytics blindly but ignoring data that can tell you how your team would be more efficient is common sense?

I never discussed the challenged roster, common sense .

My argument was that a coach can get a challenged roster to be competitive, case & point , fizzdale gone ! Thibs proved my point. Proof, Common sense .

Exactly. Analytics are not the "be all, end all" that some like to claim. But it is also not nearly as useless as others like to think.

I used to be fairly anti-analytics, but from what I have observed, it does have it's place in sports. It will never replace a coach knowing his players and how to use them to get a win, but they can go a long way towards helping the team get into position to win.

Thibs is a good coach. But he won't be able to turn the Knicks around until the team is better. Last season the Knicks finished in 12th place. Right now the Knicks are in 11th place. Not alotta improvement from last season yet.

I always went by thibs rep. But now that I have seen him on a consistent basis. I think he’s average at best. All he has done here was put an emphasis on basic D which has made the team competitive. That was my biggest argument about fizzdale, who did not hold his players accountable in any respect.

Thibs, he has no game plan. He does not implement any schemes on either end of the court. With an challenged or inexperienced roster, how does a player prove themselves?

Well first of all you're simply off your rocker for saying Thibbs doesn't have a game plan. So you don't think the Knicks roster has anything to do with where they're at, it's all on the coach?

How the hell should I know? Do you understand how the NBA works? No coach can be successful without talent. That's what Thibb's is dealing with right now. He proved in Chicgo with talent he'll have success.

You only wanna foucs on the coach. Fizdale this, Thibb's that. Why no mention of the roster? After all it's not a good one. The record proves that.

I'm not talking about legit contenders. Don't try to change the subject. I'm talking about where the Knicks are right now. But there you go again. Choosing to ignore the current roster Thibb's is dealing with.
Who is ignoring who?

what are there 5 legit contenders?

that means the rest of the teams have challenged rosters.

what is this little league? These are professional athletes, very highpicks, players that come out of the best schools in the country, from all over the world , awarded millions to play, mixed in with some good vets.

now, you hire a coach who puts into play a game plan for these athletes to execute.

cant blame the players for everything!!! Wasn’t it Shaq & Kobe who sort out Jackson ??? Who would have ever thought that those 2 would need a coach to win it all!

both coach and player are vital to achieve the goal. And that is to win it all.

Pretty sure those who don't like analytics just don't know what it means in sports. It's really just using data to your advantage. Who wouldn't want that?

Exactly.

Shot type stats are especially valuable.

If I have data that says I make 25% of a certain shot type and 60% of another, guess which shot I am avoiding?

And it isn’t as obvious as one might think without actually tracking the data.

Doesn't matter how many legit contenders right now. The Knicks ain't one of them.

Phil Jackson!? What the what? You wanna compare Thibb's to the Zen Master now?

One last thing. You mention Shaq & Kobe like the Knicks have something close to those all time greats.

I'm getting a good laugh outta this.

Thibs has no game plan that is evident to you.

But then again, you have pretty well proven you don’t know what you are looking at beyond recognizing whether the defense is playing man or zone, full court or half court.

I guarantee you the Knicks have offensive principles that govern spacing and player movement if they aren’t running sets. And that is an offensive system.

Oh man you're gonna make pasta dizzy saying things like offensive principles, player movement and running sets. He doesn't understand that stuff.
