Exactly. Players don't want a coaching carousel. In a case like the Knicks, you improve the roster before you worry about replacing the coach.

If you improve the roster and don't get the expected results, then you look at firing the coach.

It's similar to the Lakers with Del Harris. They kept him as coach while they put together the Shaq and Kobe teams. When he showed that he couldn't get them past the Spurs or Jazz...they brought in Phil.

They don't have a good NBA roster.
