For the love of God

Dolan does not have any Hand in Knicks or Rangers operations

Use your brain , culture has nothing to do with it

It’s money
LOL. The owner has no hand in Knicks or Rangers operations? Tell me another story...

Dolan does not lack for money. The new cap rules level the playing field for those unwilling to spend huge to continue winning anyway.

Seriously, are you kidding, you can’t be this thick

The owner is aware of the hiring of a GM, but he relies solely on that hiring of how the team will be built.

The seats , the biggest concern of an owner , that’s something Dolan got nothing to worry about, are bought out by corporations, loyal fans, and tourists .

And again, the superstar does not have too or want to play in an environment where they are going to be held accountable to the media. Especially an NBA pampered one. Cmon man it’s COMMON SENSE! They no longer want to come here for that sole reason. Got nothing to do with Dolan and everything to do with the NY Media!

Excuses, excuses. It's the media, it's the weak minded players, blah blah. The NY echo chamber has convinced you of baseless rhetoric.

You finally get it

Again, it’s common sense

If Dolan was the ONLY owner in league with a deep pocket, that is the only way a superstar would play here.

NY media is ruthless, they are doing everything to get THEIR name out there . They are like the paparazzi!

Yeah, because owners never have any involvement in how the businesses they own are run.

Holy shit , it’s gets even dummer

An owner of ANY major sport are billionaires who have many businesses!

A loss is not going to hurt them

Look at the Steinbrenner family, when the boss was around his hands were on every thing Yankee, now his son who took over and is nowhere to be found. Boone would have been fired 3 years ago!

Dolan def has a part of who is hired as GM, after that it’s the GM who builds

It is the owner who has final say over everything.

Dr. Buss was known as an owner who "got it right" because he "hired basketball people and let them do their jobs".

He still maintained final say on everything. He was the one who decided it was time to move on if he didn't like what was happening with the team.

Not sure what your love affair with Dolan is all about...but you're embarrassing yourself over it.

The fact that you're not smart enough to realize that you're embarrassing yourself is pretty entertaining though.

I postulated several pages back that @Pastafazul is actually Dolan. Pretty much the only thing that explains it.

Tell me something man, this is mind boggling to me how you can not think through this…

How could an owner of a franchise screw up a SUPERSTAR?

I can’t wait for the answer, if I get one at all!

What are you even talking about?

Melo?

If so, then the issue was twofold. First, he traded half his team to acquire a player who was going to sign there in free agency 3 months later.

Second, Melo was always overrated. Great scorer. But that was about it.

You asked how can the owner screw up a superstar.

What superstar are you talking about?

The culture of incompetence surrounding the Knicks for like 20 years made the Knicks an unattractive destination for anyone aside from players chasing the biggest paycheck.

That has finally begun to change.

But when a high profile franchise is near the bottom for that long, it is on 1 person.

The owner.

Any owner

A “superstar” of any major sport cannot be affected by any owner esp in the NBA

They can’t take their money, time off the court , their value.

Cannot interfere with their lives on or off the court in anyway

The only thing that COULD affect a superstar is the media, what they say about them, what they write about them , holding them accountable!

NBA superstars are the most sensitive, pampered athlete , and you can thank leflop for it

Superstar Players didn’t realistically have control over where they signed until the cap rules changed like 25 years ago.

The Knicks have not signed a superstar in free agency during that time.

All the other teams in the biggest media markets have.

I will let you figure out why that might be.

Brooklyn has signed superstar free agents. So it isn’t your media theory.

First off you don’t always know who the superstar will turnout to be

The Knicks have had there fair share of star players play for them under Dolan during that time

Knicks have not had the first round pick often to even land that potential superstar

Cleveland before lebron was one of the biggest media markets ?

Could care less that Brooklyn is part of NY. It ain’t and never will be compared to the Mecca of BB, only a fool would do that!

Dolan ain’t the reason why , he ain’t cheap!
The superstars of the NBA don’t need the Mecca anymore, but they sure as hell get up for it every time they play there

Lastly, when the Knicks have had a 1st round pick who have they selected???? SHIT, cause then GMs that he hired sucked ! And that goes along with what I been say about not enough good basketball minds in the game

Who hires the GM? There are plenty of good basketball minds out there. Don't mistake Dolan's inability to find them for a lack of availability.
