no i know... just wondering if it is all different names or if there is some weight to it... not sayin they would ever share that with us though..
No I don't think they do that, but it would be cool if they had a way to do it. Like if you had a good set people vote or something and make your name have more weight than a random person. Kind of like the NBA draft lottery

who does this?? is it tony?? or does someone in the back come over and say Tony you gotta pick this dude...

i can definitely believe production makes picks... and this was one... but i do think the timing was still coincidental...
Tony is a HUGE wrestling fan. He often compares KT to the comedy version of pro wrestling. He loves the drama, the storylines. Wrestling is really athletes in a ring doing athletic things, but WHO is in the ring is predetermined. What is said outside the ring is planned.

Tony brings that strategy to the show. And he really hasn’t tried hiding it.

There shouldn't be. The people sign up themselves. I guess they could try to cheat and sign up multiple times but God forbid they ever got pulled twice or they'd be banned from the show forever.

Tony has hinted that now, signing up requires an ID, so multiple signups or using alias’ is less likely now than it used to be (IIRC, there was one situation where someone signed up with their real name AND an alias, and both ended up getting pulled; and of course, there was the psychic chick fiasco as well)

Yeah and if you think back over the years any time anyone has even attempted to sign up more than once by using multiple names or come up to replace someone that wasn't there Redban practically exploded so I'm sure he's got some checks and balances in place.

And requiring an ID would pretty much do it.

There was the early bit of getting blackballed if you were called but didn’t come up. That was obviously BS (and declared as such by Tony years later), as Ali Macofsky was “blackballed” way before she became a regular.

Ari was a really good guest. Might just be the first regular to have a good guest appearance. He is legit.

I still like Drew, but I think I am over him at the same time. Dude is a one-trick pony.

I know I am not breaking any news here. And I knew I was going to get here eventually. I just am there now.

I didn't think he was all that funny the first time. His jokes are just not funny. I don't know if Tony was just bored that day or what. Props to Drew coming up with shit for 8 minutes i guess.

I was kind of tiring of Cam also but he did really well last week on his rant about Wisconsin.

I like the rotating regulars feature they just need to use Drew way less.

Drew has nothing else going on, so he is always available. I think that’s why he is used so much right now.

Hans has been doing the weekly minutes for a while now. He is tired and needs to slow that down and develop real bits. Kam is getting stale, and is touring a LOT. Ari is a special case. He is a legit comic trying to show a work history and the ability to generate income. He is a ringer.

Ari is very good.

Whatever Hans last bit was wasn't bad

I agree that he is not the best. But I’m ok with him. He has a good attitude. And even though he is not great he still better than most professional name pulls. And he doesn’t bomb.

Also, I like the banter with the regulars more than the name pulls as the regulars give us insider information.

100% agree.

But he has no future in the industry. He is a clown. That’s all.

no future in a full time standup act... but one minute at a time?? he is much more than fine... and to be "friends" with all the guests and tony, gives us enough entertainment...

he is more than serviceable for this show.... might even be a fun guest for kill tony... but anything past that, no way...

I don’t see him headlining his own tour, for example. Or getting a special on Netflix or Prime.

But I can see him opening for a big act. Or warming up a live audience in Hollywood for a sitcom or talk show. Not sure what kind of career that is (legit ignorance, not criticizing it)

you bring up a sitcom... i can absolutely see him being a wacky neighbour... a great secondary character... a lot like Kramer... Let the Elaine, Jerry and George do the heavy lifting...
