how can another player even try to 'BE LIKE HIM".???..that doesnt make sense.. who would want Gloria to be their mom?

In exactly the same way Kobe attempted to emulate MJ. You can never truly copy the original but you can get close enough to be pretty dam successful.

When Kevin Durant came into the league all you heard was that he was a great scorer. It seems that he has grasped the concept of making his teammates better by being a do it all guy just like Lebron. Is this a good thing for KD or should he just concentrate on doing what he does best?

I think KD is just learning more and more basketball, and this is a good thing. He could always score much like LJ did before he was in the league. But the longer players are in the league I think it is safe to say they they realize it takes much more than just scoring to be one of the great all around players. Name the great players in the past and you will find that they worked to bring thier entire game together. Jordan, Magic, David Robinson, Duncan, Julius Ervin....Who knows as time goes on Blake Griffin, James Harden, and whatever up and comers will relieze it takes more than just scoring(lame but know I in team) to be the best and to have a chance at the title.

I would rather have KD on my team than lebron by a long shot. He doesn't need to copy anyone.

I agree that Durant was always a scorer and IMO much better at it than Lebron. The last 2 seasons however, he has shown a marked emphasis on handling the ball and setting up his teammates. This is a little more than becoming a scorer who will pass the ball. Melo for example will pass the ball now much more than he previously did but he does not appear to be interested in playing Point Forward.
