That's what I've been saying.
Just because he wants to go to LA, doesn't mean he's going to be in LA. I don't know why some are penciling him on the Lakers this upcoming season. He's still under contract for 1 more year, and Pop may take a lesser deal just to send Kawhi out East.
Go ahead, trade him out East. Lakers can wait another year. Sign one free agent this year (or none) and sign some more one year deals to hold over that cap space. Get Randle signed, try for another gem in the draft, etc. Guys like Klay and Jimmy Butler could be available, Lebron and George could play out their remaining year (or go elsewhere if they wish), lots of options.
