Defensively we were good then. I don't think we are now. The defense will not bail us out now. I'll stick with my 5 - 11 prediction. As we both know our offense maybe won us one game from the day Nagy started. Our new D coach scares me and the talent has gotten old and some have moved on to other teams. We got a rookie DC and no offense support for our lesser defense. I'm not pessimistic by nature but I expect a really bad year. And that is a good thing IMO. We need Nagy gone before Fields gets ruined like Mitch did. It's a (darkest before the dawn) thing for me.

There is a lot of promising film on Fields from his first year. Also, some film that doesn't necessarily shine a great light on him.

Well, he had his best game vs your guys. So, I can see where you think that. However, he had some games where he was quite poor and it was squarely on him as well. His talent is undeniable, but he looked completely overwhelmed at times. I think better days are ahead, though. Like I said, just needs a staff that can smooth out the rough edges mechanically and help the game slow down for him. It looked very fast for him most of the time.
Im not debating that he had some bad tape as well. I did not see as much as you, no doubt. I was a big fan through college as well. He has some tweaks that need to be made. But hes got alot of game, and things should slow down for him. He can process and work a progression. " Fields was under pressure on 43.3% of his dropbacks in 2021"......didnt help.

As long as Fields does it at some point in a Bears uniform I'll be chuffed. Whether it's this season next or three just for love of heaven someone needs to pass for 4,000 yds!
