well for the record why would he slice his own throat by playing a guy he KNOWS cant win and number 2 he benched the guy before for colt mccoy of all people . that is on the record

Exactly!!! I just can't see Gruden staying with the guy that doesn't fit his system nor gives his team the best chance to win,in addition it's not in his best interest going forward.

The only reason would be he has been told he must. Just like the coach before him. For those saying that he shouldn't be the HC if he doesn't have the balls to do what he thinks is right, while I agree, that is the only type of HC that Danny will hire. Wash, rinse, repeat.

So what if Gruden were given the ultimatum of play Griffin or quit?? Because if he walks, he gives up the last three years of his contract. Where as if Dan fires him, he keeps it all. Although I have started to wonder if Jay is calling plays to force the issue. Not to get Griffin injured, but to show that he is still not where a starting QB needs to be. Odd that he didnt call a single roll out or moving pocket play with Griffin in the game, but did it for Mccoy and Kirk.

It will be interesting to see how long it will take before Gruden makes a switch. I think it's pretty clear that naming Griffin the starter was forced on him. But as we saw last year once the year was underway it was his call who started and who was benched.

I've seen a lot being made about the play calling. This is preseason, where the goal is to work on things he is weak at. So one should expect a heavy does of drop backs for Griffin as he sucks at those plays. Just as we should expect more roll outs for KC as he is less proficient in that area.

To a degree I would agree with this. How ever if this is something you need to work on, you do it in a semi controlled environment. If you have a kid that cant do a particular task, you dont take him infront of the entire school and tell him keep doing it until he gets it right. The pocket passing stuff needs to be gradually worked in. And in light of him getting pounded early and often, it should have been scrapped, at least for that particular outing.

Mind you I expect Griffin will ultimately fail at becoming a pocket passer in any case. But I dont want to see the kid crippled for life just to prove that he is nothing more than an option style QB.

According to the reports, in a semi controlled environment, he does all right. It's when shit hits the fan with live ammo flying at him is when he falters. You can't evaluate that in a semi controlled environment. I agree, I don't believe he will ever be a proficient pocket passer. So what do you do?

The problem with designing an offense where you continually move the pocket is you basically take away half the field. The defense will quickly adjust and if they only have to defend a half field, then that presents a whole new set of issues. This is why no QB in the NFL can live on roll outs and bootlegs exclusively. The defenses are just too good.

Agreed. But instead of trying to force the pocket passing. Do the roll outs and boot legs and then sprinkle in the pocket concepts until he improves at it.

Sm and Synder want Rg3 to start. Gruden has no choice. Its the way the team is run. Just like SM made the call on Scherff at #5.

Even if Rg3 has an average year 300 yards 20TD's 13INts. Do we still have to pay him 15 mil in 2016?

Gentlemen, I'm hoping that we all realize that we are still debating dysfunction, that goes well beyond who our QB happens to be. I'm betting that teams currently from center up of the food chain and their followers are talking about possibilities, while we bottom feeders have to wait and hope that someday we will join or replace them. Really sad isn't it?

if SM thinks he needs a shot i am more apt to let it play out some . and yeah he made the call on scherf and it was the right call

Its been proven he cant be a RT. A position switch in the first week of camp. You guys said he was a tackle, he is not. Moses actually beat him out. The only way its the right call is if he becomes a all pro this year or next at OG. Lets hope he is as good as Zack Martin. That is the only way the pick can be justified.

I don't agree that he needs to be an all pro this year or next to justify the pick, we need more time than that. But I tell you what, if Leanard Williams continues to dominate as he is already and Sherff turns into a pretty good guard those defending the pick are just being stubborn.

you have selective amnesia dean . i brought up numerous times that if he were a OG that there have been high draft picks used on guards or did you forget that crap because it doesnt fit your agenda

It has not been proven he can't be a RT, all that we know is that the coaching staff feels Moses is a better RT TODAY.
