Strong had no problem curb stomping an SEC team in their beloved sugar bowl. Florida recruiting classes were way better, but somehow louisville was able to run them off the field.

And pretty much that same Florida team lost to Georgia Southern this year and your point is? If it is Florida sucks then I approve this message.

He did great with what he had to work with at Louisville, and that's why he got the Texas job. But comparing his record at Louisville against the records of other coaches who are playing at the top levels of college football as if to say it's evidence he is already on their level is wrong.

Of course he will have more to work with at Texas, and he should be a good coach at the next level of college football, but he ain't there yet.

You are an idiot if you think 2012 11-1 Florida = 2013 4-8 Florida

Florida had the best wins in the country prior to losing to Louisville. Doesn't matter if they were pretty or not. So Florida did not suck in 2012 unless the entire SEC sucked. Your call.

I think Texas got an upgrade to Mack Brown....but not the coach that'll bring them to the promise land. A lot of coaches seem to be happy where they're at and not moving. I think it was a bad year to can coaches and looking for replacements.

I imagine he will be a legit threat to take over for Strong at Louisville.

By your logic every highschool coach who has success at that level should make great NFL coaches.
-
That would be your logic. Makes no sense to say places like Bama and Texas have the greatest programs. Acknowledging that they have a plethora of built in advantages like money, recruits, facilities. Than out of the other corner of your mouth say that these are the hardest places to coach. 2 statements are completely at odds with each other. Success at any level vs your peers means you are very good at your job. Who knows how Smart will project, but the resume would indicate it should go well..
