They went on to say, "Presumably, Kyle Higashioka will end up returning to play alongside Austin Rominewhile Sanchez is out. That is hardly an optimal situation for a team that now has six games to make up in the AL East."

If you watch the replays it was a lack of hustle. Not saying he may not have been injured but on the ground ball he was just trotting to first and then realized what was going on and tried to run faster and was doubled up. According to fans of the Yankees he has had this problem in the past at both the MLB and Minor league level.
His contract does expire before our window opens so he is still available.
We can hope.
This will really put pressure on the other AL teams to make some moves. The Yankees know they are a starter and possibly 2 away from a shut down pitching staff whereas Cleveland may feel they need one more reliever to be the same. Boston actually needs some of both. Houston could use another reliever and Seattle at this time could use both starter and reliever. So we will see if this helps us any as it gets closer to the midnight hour.

Good chance Kela/Leclerc are probably on someone's shortlist. Minor is an excellent choice for a #3/#4 starter or reliever.
Maybe someone will think Hamels just needs a change of scenery if we pick up a huge chunk of his salary.
