Seattle was making a play for him... But it seem's all the top free agents are running to the money... Maybe winning isn't that important after all, too most of these guy's anyway .... $ is king ..

I never understand these players and just going after the biggest contract they can find on the open market. If a player is truly thinking about how to maximize money then going to a winning organization is truly the way to go. Say he had resigned with the Broncos and they are right in the running for a Super Bowl again or had picked the Seahawks. This then gets his face in primetime games and in front of the media on a regular basis. This means more endorsement opportunities. So let's say he only makes $7 million a year playing for the Broncos but is able to bring in $4 million in endorsements compared to $9 million with the Jaguars but only $1 million in actual endorsements. Which way has truly maximized a player's earning power? Now I understand some of this then will depend on the player actually producing but I for one would be one willing to bet on myself.

All of that is a big reason that I do think Cobb stayed with the Packers. You will not find a better situation in the NFL to maximize his abilities than that of playing with Rodgers. If he goes to the Raiders like many thought good chance that in a few years he is just considered a mediocre WR struggling to find a team to sign him to another contract.

I was hoping he would land with the Raiders. I guess he wanted to get with a better organization...

If the Jaguars can get Murray and Thomas, that will give Bortles a lot of help in his development.

All depends what they are paying him. Jacksonville has SO much cap it's ridiculous so you might as well front load the heck out of that contract. Either way it gives Jax something for now. If Blackmon is actually serious about cleaning up his act and Jax can get a decent runningback they might be okay offensively. Defensively they're going to be in a position to grab one of the top DT/DE/OLBs in this draft and they play in a pretty awful division.

If Blake Bortles improves Jax might pull off a 7-9 record or something if Thomas/Blackmon start producing and they get a decent draft to fill some defensive holes.
Jax is so bad that any decent player will improve them. Maybe they get 6 wins this year?

lol idiot.

Nah...smart imo actually...IF he banks the extra few million...a ring might get you free dinner for life if you stay in in that town, but one blown out knee and it's a wrap...for your 2nd deal in the NFL...you ALWAYS follow the money.

The guy is hurt a lot, and the Jags seem to have other needs the money would be better spent on

During his 4 years in Denver he's never played a full 16 game season. Hope the money will be worth it because JT ain't winning a damn thing in Jville.

Teams do get better and improve. Just because they are shitty now doesn't mean they will stay that way. 4 years ago 49ers were pure shit and fired their coach before the season is over, next year they were a muffed punt from the super bowl. Things can change quickly and maybe him going there is one of the dominoes that needed to fall to make the team a contender.
