Many Cowboys fans are still bitter over the way Jones replaced Johnson with Switzer. Barry wasn't embraced by the fans.

Oh, I understand completely. But, its not like Jerry let JJ go and replaced him with a Chip Kelly. Barry had a track record of winning championships.

Aikman couldn't stand SWitzer. There was a story of them practicing one day and they had been out there for about 15 minutes. Supposedly one of the OL kept jumping or something minor and ole Barry was hungover. He said something like guYs we are the best team in the league, let's just call it a day. Ha. Of course most approved , but that didn't go over to well with Aikman.

2015 Garrett suck, while in 2014 fans were arguing he should win Coach of the Year. To many only see today. The team personnel is better under Garrett, he stays in my opinion.

Switzer got to drive Jimmy Johnson's Ferrari.

"Any 1 of 500 coaches could coach this team". Barry was 501. The 1995 COWBOYS won Super Bowl XXX in spite of Switzer, not because of him.

Amen to that. Switzer barely coached that team. It always seemed like the players were coaching themselves.

The problem I have with Garrett is, he was offensive coordinator for the COWBOYS since 2007.
When Romo played a 16 game schedule(in those years) , he averaged 555 passing attempts per season....One season he actually attempted 648 passes.......Garrett was calling those plays in those seasons.
Last season when Linehan was calling the plays, Romo threw for an Aikman-like 435 passing attempts....
The offense was 52% run and 48% pass.........a 1990's COWBOY'S formula for winning...
What prompted the change in the offense, after 6 years of a Garrett offense?
My guess is, Garrett was visited by three ghosts at midnight, on Christmas eve or Scott Linehan.

Linehan was pass happy in Detroit so I'd say it's not his decision to run either.

So you say that as if the circumstances were the same or that the personnel on those two teams was identical. Things don't happen in a vacuum. Plus, he isn't the OC now. Judge him as HC or not at all. Some guys are better coordinators and some are better leaders. Garrett to me is a leader and a big picture guy. Do things the right way and in the long run they will pay off. How do you instill that mentality in a team as an OC with Wade as a HC?

I think if this team is bad next year, Garrett is gone.

Bringing in Hardy cuts Garretts nuts off. He is all about accountability and doing things the right way, and Jerry brings in a guy that does whatever he wants to.

I agree that this could happen, but I would disagree with the team if they did it. Garrett has slowly won me over more and more. I do not think he is a great OC and his time management continues to be horrific. But, he gets the big picture and I think he is one of the biggest reasons we were considered a favorite in the first place this year. I wonder what his true thoughts on Hardy were/are. is this another situation like when Jerry forced TO on Parcells? You need to make sure your HC is on board with all big moves...maybe he was...

I realize losing causes "issues" with players and coaches. But when the COWBOY players hear two different voices speaking (or maybe the wrong one) (and Jones shouldn't be speaking at all), there are mixed messages. Jones is full of PR BS and Garrett sees no evil. The COWBOYS need a strong central voice of leadership from their head coach. We don't need to hear Garrett say, "we need to look at the game tape and go back to work and correct these things." He needs to blow a fuse.
His "rah rah attitude" ain't working too well. I've always thought hiring Garrett was a mistake. But then again, we all know Jerry doesn't want a true leader. Switzer,Campo,Gailey,Phillips,Garrett
Garrett has been rendered a gelding over there. He collects paychecks while JJ coaches.
