There are many players every year that deserve it but to say the Joker doesn't is simply not true. He has redefined the center position and has amassed some incredible stats at the age of 29. He's won a championship and Finals MVP. He posted 25 triple doubles in 2023 and is on pace to smash records for a center in that area. Brunson, Edwards, Shai, Luca, Giannis are all amazing NBA players. No shade on them for this nod to Jokic.

I think they should at least wait until the Playoffs are over personally to decide more realistically. . I mean Joker could be SWEPT for the 2nd time already. You don't deserve MV anything if you get swept in the playoffs as the defending champs. Sorry

I don’t know about waiting until the playoffs are over, since then it would basically be the best player on the champion team (with exceptions), but I understand not wanting it the way it is now. But it is the regular season MVP, right? So playoffs wouldn’t count.
