This movie is getting trash reviews.
Still haven't seen the first one.
Joaquin Phoenix should probably fire his agent after this and Napoleon.
WTF.
Why we DC fans can't get a break? I still have some high hopes in Gunn's universe, but fk, DC are really stupid.
its funny... people always complain about there being no originality in movies anymore... this movie tries something very out of the box... problem is that they forgot who the target for it was in the first place... generally comic book fanboys don't like musicals...

While from a commercial pov it was a bad idea to make this movie this way, the fact that this movie is a musical is not why it sucks. If it was a good musical, it would be getting some praise from movie critics, but this movie is getting destroyed by everyone. Good musicals drive the story through the musical pieces, here the musical parts were pointless, annoying and don't add anything. Without them you would still have the same crappy story.
If you watched the trailers you wouldn't know it was a musical. But as soon as it was announced as a musical it lost a lot of luster. It was a bad decision to make it a musical and a worst decision is below.
“We’d very often meet in Joaquin’s trailer and sometimes we would just tear the script up and start all over,” Gaga recently told Vanity Fair for her own cover story. “It was a really cool, liberating process.”
Phillips confirmed Gaga’s story and told the publication: “My line about Joaquin is that he’s the tunnel at the end of the light. You think, ‘Okay, this scene works, let’s just go shoot it.’ And Joaquin’s like, ‘No, no, no, let’s just have a quick meeting about it,’ and it’s three hours later and you’re rewriting it on a napkin. What’s great about Lady Gaga is that she really holds her own both off camera when we’re in the trailer tearing things apart—which she probably spent the night before learning—but also on camera. It was not a small feat.”
This trio really fucked it up.
I agree with this. The 1st movie wasn't a musical, nothing in the trailer made you think it was a musical and it wasn't overall promoted as a musical. I guess it makes sense that they hired a musician to play Harley. Overall this will be a terrible money loss bomb. The idea of a musical probably would had been great if they performed it on Broadway.

Previews I've seen also aren't doing it any favors
I also don't get why they cast Lady Gaga.... Only reason I can think of is because they are making it a musical

They actually say that lady Gaga was the only good thing in this movie.
