I’m just asking the question cause they seem surprisingly profitable

Those numbers are disastrous. For calculating profit, you have to double the production budget to account for marketing/distribution.

Every single DC movie in that posted chart of the last 5 years has been a financial flop except for The Batman, the lone success.

I don’t really know how you follow up the first joker, but it sounds like this clearly wasn’t what it should’ve been.

its funny... people always complain about there being no originality in movies anymore... this movie tries something very out of the box... problem is that they forgot who the target for it was in the first place... generally comic book fanboys don't like musicals...
Fuck....it's a musical

Maybe In music

I haven’t heard good about the rest of her role
I wasn't a big AHS fan but I remember watching one season and she seemed pretty good. I haven't watched much of her stuff though

Honestly, the only part I liked was the end and what they strongly strongly hinted at without actually saying it. The movie was so incredibly boring and all the musical numbers just really took me out of the movie.

Phillips has officially said that Fleck is NOT the Joker.

They never said who was but the ending practically tells you with how it plays out.
I haven’t seen it (probably never will, tbh). But I am aware enough about the scene to know that that guy is likely the Joker we know in lore.

Not that it really matters. This universe died with this movie.

And Gunn is already dropping the ball so let me know when the next guy fixes this mess

Either way this is downright criminal

It’s fraud, bait and switch etc
Not as bad as Highlander 2.

I watched that again a few years back, KNOWING it was a horrible movie, and it still blew me away with how bad it was. It literally made me angry watching it. While I haven’t seen Joker 2, I suspect it brings up similar emotions.

No exaggerations, Highlander 2 is on my shortlist for worst movie ever made.

Oh come on! He hasn’t even made his first official movie yet there is literally no way you can honestly mean that.

If I saw this opening night I‘d probably be legitimately upset given how much I loved the first one, but after hearing everyone talk about how bad it was I wasn‘t expecting much.

It’s biggest crime was it took the entertainment and uniqueness of the first movie and made this one boring as shit.

And honestly that’s the only part of the movie I liked. Given how the first movie went with Arthur inspiring a revolution him getting it from someone he created was a fitting end to this story.

It may have been better for them to utilize the 3-Joker explanation. I don’t know if that theory has ever officially appeared in the comics, but they also have never stated who he was pre-Joker, so this franchise was already going into uncharted territory.
