I agree in part. But I think the idea is a risk versus reward. If you lose a 1st round pick to arrest or suspension it sucks real bad. If you lose a 5th rounder it sucks a little less. Plus it makes it a little easier to deal with the negative publicity if you add a first round talent in the 5th round. What I've found helps offset negative press better than anything is winning...I always love the idea of a guy "dropping" in the draft because of off the field issues
"We dont want the wife beater in Round 1, but we will take him in Round 5"
