I see it now
I always saw Sutter and Jordan Staal as pretty similar players

I see this as even, Staal will take it to the next level playing with big bro, so the extra's were worth it.

Sutters kin never really stuck with the 'Canes, so no a huge break up.

Regardless.

WELCOME JORDAN!!!!!

Best of luck Sutter, you will be missed here. You got a great asset Pitt fans. You will love this guy.
.
That's great to hear, Biz. I hope this works out for both clubs. I think a major shake up like this may be just what the Pens need...and Carolina as well.

The kid wasn't wearing an "A" by accident.
He will quickly become a fan fave.
There is a reason he was the cog to make this deal happen.

trade for Mark (though I think we are really out of assets to do that, would take Gleason at least i'm sure)

Then pick up Stoll

Send out a power play of:
j. Staal - e. Staal - j. Stoll
m. Staal - j. Staal

I could stop watching hockey after that and be ok with it, that would be a defining moment worthy of it.

I didn't know that about him. Only 23 and he had the A already is impressive. I've read a few things about Sutter and it sounds like he was your best PK forward, which is what the Pens had with Staal. It's good to have that in return.

Still can't believe this happened so fast :twitch:

this

Others were equally as good defensively on the PK, but Sutter, like J. Staal, was a threat to score each time out as well.

The two play VERY similar games. Staal is just bigger and probably a little better/more gifted on the offensive end (though B-Sut is money on a breakaway, which always shocked us they never used him in a shootout)

If the 87 dude wasn't signed until 2325, I'd say Sutter could be your Captain some day. Kid's got "it", whatever "it" is, kids got it.
He may never be in the top 10 on the scoring list, but you will be damn glad he's on your team.

that said, E Staal was VASTLY improved on the PK this past year... Major improvement over previous years.

Wonder if Mueller will use the two Staal bros on the kill together.
They may score 20 SHG's. :D

I'm not overly thrilled with the trade but Staal wanted more money, well he more than likely will get it,but with the Pens they are playoff contenders almost every year,,,,I guess that doesn't mean much to him..as for Sutter I know nothing about him,

Staal,,10 years 60 mil it wasn't good enough there is no team loyalty anymore it's all about greed

Biz, were you surprised to see Carolina make this move, even though they could have said,

"we're gonna wait until next July."

I'm actually VERY surprised

J.R. and the 'Canes org was very high on Sutter

They must have known something we don't, saw a golden chance to make this happen, kick start their Captain and make him happy, and plan on a long term for both or something.

I always assumed it would happen (or TRY to happen anyway) next year.

Maybe they figured they wouldn't be able to afford him next summer, so bring him in for a year with his bro, make it real hard for him to leave next year...

How come the one Sutter I've wanted for a few years keeps eluding the Flames?

/How's the new grill, Biz?

fuck you,,,,,I have no time for players that are only interested in the money,,,just greed is all that is,they don't care about winning as long as they make the cash

when his new team onty wins 40 games for the next 5 years I wonder if he will still feel the same way about the money as he does now

I just realized that Brandon is Brent Sutters son..Brent was on the Blackhawks team that got swept by Pittsburgh in '92...
