Just like Pg and possibly Kawhi....
Having Butler, George and KAT would've been a really good start.
And as I've said before they shoudl've gone for Lowry over Teague and Gibson.
Might as well just fire Thibs now if you're gonna undermine him like that.
I mean, yes. Lowry + those 3 would be a contender. Don't think that is realistic at all though.
I think the Twolves should get rid of Thibbs & replace him w/ Papa Ball. What could go w/ that?
They had the cap space to make it happen last year. So it was very realistic.
Except for the Wiggins + filler for PG13 part. They already gave up most of their attractive cheap assets in the Butler deal and Wiggins was still on the last year of his rookie contract. So, the Wolves would have had to add a bunch of salary like Dieng that Indy probably would not have wanted.
Also, Oladipo had already been extended for significantly less than max. While he had been similarly disappointing as Wiggins, he made for a much easier trade target because the salary was easier to match and he was locked up for 3 more years.
Dude, nobody wants Wiggins at the max.Wiggins, jones and a future first.
Then some salary to match up.
Done. Easy.
Thibs will turn in his whistle within 24 hours of Taylor going over his head and dealing Butler. Count on it.
The Viqueens will win back-to-back Super Bowls before the Timberwimps even sniff the NBA Finals.*
The best thing that could happen is for Taylor to sell the team and the new owner moves them and the Stinx to another city. Any new owner would want a new arena to replace the nearly 30 year-old Target Center and the taxpayers up here are sick and tired of paying for new stadiums for spoiled jerks and the fools/criminals that sign their checks.
*-Curse is null and void if Taylor sells the team and the new owner moves them and renames the team.
The sooner Thibs resigns the better
Not as good as what OKC offered even before Oladipo's breakout.
False. Completely false.
Not false.
Because you fail to consider the negative value of the contracts Minny would have to add + the fact that Wiggins was a year away from RFA, significantly reducing his trade value. Players like Wiggins, Randle Otto Porter, etc are not attractive trade assets heading into RFA because teams know they will have to overpay to keep a good, not great young player.
Oladipo was already on a long term, team friendly contract AND their was not a bad contract attached to the OKC package.
Sorry, but you are very wrong here. Although many criticized Indy's PG13 return at the time, it is still most defintely a more attractive package than what Minny had to offer. You are either grossly
Overestimating Wiggins' value, or grossly underestimating the bad contract.
As for Jones and the 1st? Sabonis was at more valuable than Jones last summer and the future 1st probably doesn't even cancel the value of the contract Minny would have had to add.
