Those I like, I'd like to see the word "Jets" somewhere, but still simple and clean

I have a question for people familiar with Winnipeg. In national articles I have read numerous times the last month that some people feel the Jets may have trouble attracting players because its not exactly thought to be a hot destination. Have any of you ever spent time there? How is it?

I feel like you hear that reasoning in the media quite a bit in all kind of sports, but doesn't it seem a little fetched? If you're a young guy in the league, aren't you just looking for an opportunity and are pleased as punch to join an NHL team? If you're a guy who has been in the league for a little while, aren't you more concerned whether a team has the potential to win a Stanley Cup than the geographic location of the team? I feel like that factor is only significant for a select few veterans who have the luxury of picking and choosing, like for the Brad Richards of this world.

I would think the city/region where you play is a third tier factor in the vast majority of player's decision on where to go. Your hockey career is generally going to be a small part of your overall life. And most guys are going to play for a given team for only a short while anyway and are going to make enough to live wherever they want once hockey is done. Hell, many guys live in different cities from where they play, so they only spend part of the year in their pro team's city anyway. And some guys actually prefer a smaller market where they can have more of a private life and a better connection with the town that is more "real."

I know Comeds isn't putting forth an argument here, I just think the location is not generally a big factor for players. It's more like a bonus if they end up somewhere like really like.

So which Canadian team has the worst logo? Are we all in agreement that it's Ottawa?

My ranking would go:

Toronto
Montreal
Vancouver
Calgary
Ottawa
Edmonton
Winnipeg

I think it's a little unfair to rank some of these teams against others. For example, on it's face, the Habs logo is pretty awful. A horseshoe shaped "c?" That's it? It's the tradition and memories behind it that gives it the weight and makes it cool, not the logo itself.

Logos just writing out the team name are kinda lame (trust me, I have experience on this, ;) ) from a creativity/identity standpoint. With the Jets, I think it's the nostalgia for the old that makes people pine for the old logo, not so much that it was a great design.

Yeah. I guess we don't associate the new Jets logo with hockey yet, and that's a big part of the problem. If the Coyotes move to Quebec, I really, really, really hope they go with the old Nordiques logo and design. That was pimp.
