you just said eli manning is arguably the best qb the nfl....whatever credibilty you had just left...he isnt even the best qb in his own family
If we are judging QB's only on how they perform in pressure situations, we have to take a harder look at Favre who so often crumbled under pressure, as well as Peyton earlier in his career.

I said ''arguably." Did you see the tear he went on in the 2011 playoffs? It seemed like every time there was a 3rd down he woudl thread the needle on a rope (mixing cliche metaphors) & pick it up. Look at what he's done in the playoffs VS Peyton's performaces. Eli has done better.
why take it to the extreme...its a move you make when the need is right..what you just said is you admitting you dont have a reasonable answer...if you think first rounders are such a slam dunk show me a draft where 50% of the players taken ended up in the pro bowl at least once.
like i said by your logic doug williams is the greatest qb ever...also trent dilfer great..joe flacco also great.
You're now comparing Eli's postseason success to the likes of Doug Williams & Trent Dilfer? Seriously?
More like Ben Roethlisberger.
huge contract???? its 0 guaranteed money and the bucs have loads of cap space
The only way the 0 guarenteed money comes into play is if the Buccs cut him. In that scenario it would be the 11th / 12th pick of the draft VS nothing. I think most people would take the former.
Just because they hedged the bet doesn't mean it's a good bet.
eli 211 tds 144 ints...
has led the nfl in picks twice
has thrown 15 or more pics in a season 6 times in his 8 full seasons..
kind of like drafting ryan leaf...or one of the other hundreds of first round busts
Eli Manning NFL Football Statistics - Pro-Football-Reference.com
scroll down and take a look at players with similar careers....jake delhomme
He's peaked higher than his brother the last 5 years, and he stays up there for longer durations. That's what you want in the playoffs.
The Giants are more than happy with Eli.
If you really believe Eli Manning's career is comparable to Jake Delhomme's I don't even know where to begin with you.
Cutler is screwed from the get-go (along with anyone who would've played in Arizona) because his OL isn't just bad; it's one of teh worst OLs in many years.
Stafford was terrible last year, but I think he's a lot more talented than Freeman, so I'd hang onto Stafford.
Dalton? I wouldn't go with Dalton (or Ponder) if I were running an NFL team. They're mediocre too.
Rivers has next to no talent on offense any more, but he arguably the best QB in the NFL over a 5-year span. No, you don't cut a guy like that. Eli? Eli is arguably the best QB in the entire NFL. He had a rough run with some injuries on the team, but he's the reason the Giants are always going to be one of the scarriest teams (probably THE scarriest) to the Niners in their SB window.
Attempts don't matter? The QB rating takes how many attempts you take into consideration. That's why it's a far better measure of performance than total numbers. But I also look at what they do against the best teams & disregard the cream puffs. That's why I never believed in Alex Smith.
