Jeter had five completely undeserved gold gloves- his actual stats show him to be a below average SS.
Sandberg was a THIRD ballot hall of famer.

Just by looking at the choice of stats you posted ....you can just feel the "I don't like the guy so he sucks" coming through.

I wouldn't complain though his defense and baserunning (god he was slow, even by catcher standards) don't help his cause at all. WAR tends to underrate catchers (the average WAR for catchers in the HOF is 53.5 and there's only 8 catchers north of that mark). His 42.8 WAR ranks 19th all-time among catchers.
