We need a lot of things. Dez commands the ball. I don't think Dak needs that. Notice his %when he throws to Dez.
Trade Dez for a high draft pick.

It's like people forget that the last time the Cowboys had a top rushing attack, Romo put up MVP numbers, led the NFL in QBR, went 12-3(undefeated on the road), and was All-Pro. If not for Murray's fumble and Dez's drop, Romo very well could have been at least in the NFC Championship that year and maybe even the SB.

U took it the wrong way. Dez is a great player that needs the ball. With Romo he gets it. With Dak ???

romo's best season was 2014
less is more
:agree:That is exactly what we are doing and the team said as much the day they took Elliott. Whichever guy is under center won't change that as long as it's working. If Romo comes back little will change and we will see what we saw of him in 2014. He won't throw it all over the lot and he won't try to push it downfield and score in one play. The goal will be the 8 minute drive just like we saw in 2014 and just like we have seen this year. I don't understand why people are saying Romo is going to come in and start throwing it downfield, it's going to be a lot of 3 and 3's with 6 yard completions for first downs. As long as Romo is healthy he will put up efficient numbers just like Dak has and just like Romo did 2 years ago.

Dak 2016: 69% completion %; 248 yards/game; 8 YPA
Romo 2014 69.9% completion %; 247 ypg; 8.5 YPA

Dez doesn't catch many 6 yard passes

It is the same way we won in 2014. Long drives.

I still don't get it.

You have to remember what happens when Dez is on the field. He becomes a huge focus of the secondary.
I have said it before, Dez knows his role as a decoy. He is not a selfish receiver.

I think Dez is like any other top 5-10 WR. He wants the ball. As good as Dak has looked this year, the only time he has looked off is when he throws to Dez. Dak likes throwing to the guys that are wide open. He hasn't fit too many balls in small windows. He is 11/23 throwing to Dez this year, by far his lowest percentage. Against Washington, Dez had a good game but Dak , instead of doing what he does best forced some balls to him in the red zone. We ended up getting field goals. Dez gets frustrated when he isn't a part of the offense. He gets doubled a bunch with a safety over the top. Dak isn't throwing in harms way

My only comment about "Jerry says Tony is the starter".

Jerry, shut the fuck up and let your coach say that. PLEASE!

I'm not knocking Dez at all, but the last two weeks Dak hasn't seemed to miss him being there at all.

If the Romo that was here in 2014 shows up, he should be the starter, no question. I think it's a valid question as to whether he is still that guy or not. It doesn't matter, he is going to start when he is ready, the question is, how long will he be on the field once he returns? I hope he remains healthy and plays great, as much because he has been a great team guy for the Cowboys as anything else

You are knocking Dez. You can't even argue that point.
You said it yourself, Dez gets doubled up on alot. ...and that allows for things to happen.

...I guess you could make the point that we can win without Dez. But you would willing to word it a different way?

We are so good, we don't need Dez?

Those words are never coming out of my mouth ..too many ruined Thanksgiving diners for that.

I understand what you are saying. I'm just saying he is a Pro Bowler with Romo. With Dak, I'm not so sure. With Romo he is a 90 catch guy. With Dak, he may just be a 60 catch guy.
