This is why defense is so grossly underrated in the NBA everyone always thinks its about scoring. If you can score a lot you're considered a really good player, if you play very good D and people can't see that much offensively they will cancel the guy out right away because of it.

Lin was always a bench level player. He's a role player that can be good in the right system, but he lucked out and got some quality games in with the Knicks, and the NY media went nuts.

He reminded me of JJ Barea......decent player off the bench if he plays his part. But by all means do not overpay him.....

Barea is much better than Lin. Lin has potential to be a useful bench player for the Rockets, though, as long as he doesn't turn the ball over

Smart move. It amazed me how many asians bashed you when you said he wasn't a NBA starter. They blamed Melo and Woodson for him not excelling in NYC, then they blamed Harden. Now it's Kevin Mchale. Geez, it doesn't take a rocket scientist(no pun intended)to see he's an over paid hype job.

That's not a bad idea actually. He could probably play in China and excel and at the same time, making a brand of himself. He ain't ever coming near another contract close to the one he has.
