The point is it was a ridiculous contract. Ridiculous in how it was structured (you rarely see it in the NBA, but its legal) and ridiculous in that Lin will make top dollar in year 3.

He's not making 15 mil or whatever for the 3rd year of his contract. It's 8.3 for each year.

Rox specifically changed their unis to what it is now when Yao was drafted to cater to the Chinese fanbase. Thank goodness.

Lin had a fluke breakout streak in a system he got used to. Should have stayed in ny. By the end of next season nobody will remember his name.

Carmelo's comment about the contract being ridiculous was misunderstood. He wasn't saying that what Lin got was ridiculous, he was saying the way the contract was structured was ridiculous because the 3rd year of the deal would end up costing the Knicks 30 million because of the new luxury tax rules.
