What?NOT MY FUCKING DODGERS!!!!
What?NOT MY FUCKING DODGERS!!!!
Just my opinion but I thought Red Sox overpaid for Price.Yeah, I have no idea either. I'm honestly asking. His head problems can't be that big of an issue still. I think he's one of the best and to have that 1-2 punch of Kershaw & Greinke? Pretty formidable. I wouldn't have minded if the Giants overpaid for him at all. David Price was just a bit cheaper and I would have been PISSED if we got him at that price. Especially for that long. I find it interesting that the Dodgers didn't pull out all the stops for him.
With assumed good health, Zimm is CLEARLY the better sign.I'd say he is better than Shark. He's made 32 starts and pitched at least 195 innings in 4 straight seasons and his 3.66 ERA in 2015 was the first time it's been over 3.25 in seasons where he's pitched at least 50 innings. If he stays healthy for the Tigers I'll say it looks like a good deal, maybe a bit of an overpay but a lot of players get overpaid.
Don't be greedy. We'll give them Kemp too, he misses LA and I bet they miss him too.
Agreed. I also think they overpaid in years. Unless you're a Trout or Harper, I just can't see too many contracts beyond five years making a lot of sense.Just my opinion but I thought Red Sox overpaid for Price.
Definitely. With the injuries Sanchez and Verlander have dealt with in recent years, I know Detroit doesn't want another starter struggling to stay healthy. With assumed good health, Zimm is CLEARLY the better sign.
But that is a HUGE assumption.
So why do you think the Dodgers, who presumably print money in the dugout, let him go? They have MUCH deeper pockets than AZ and could have thrown ridiculous money at him. What do you think made them not want to pull the trigger?
Especially a pitcher who really isn't a power pitcher who is also has finesse like a Grienke, Price is more of a control / finesse guy. I sure wouldn't want that long of a contract for that type of pitcher. He's a nice solid guy who really got some wicked money. I can't believe the Cubbies actually got John Lackey, that pretty much shocked me. They have a superb 1,2,3 punch now with Arrietta, Lackey and Leister.Agreed. I think they overpaid in years. Unless you're a Trout or Harper, I just can't see too many contracts beyond five years making a lot of sense.
If the Dodgers need a SP, James Shields is available
They'll give you Puig, headaches and drama free of charge!Melvin was pretty good for us in 2015, we could probably get Seager from the Dodgers if we throw him in. But it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make.
I did not, sounds bad though. The one Dodger I don't wanna see on the Padres, no matter how talented he may be. I'd root for him if he was on the Padres because this team needs to win and make the postseason in the worst way, but unlike other players I don't think I could end up becoming a Puig fan(maybe Greinke was another, but I don't have to worry about that now). They'll give you Puig, headaches and drama free of charge!
Did you see that little blurb about him getting into a physical fight with his sister or something? Sheesh. Guy's not long for this game if he keeps following this path.
What?
Well, many of the big money moves were made by Colleti. Colleti made some good ones but made more bad moves imo. This front office hasn't really spent a ton of money, at least compared to Colleti. I read that they wanted to get the payroll lower. I imagine they did throw money at him, just not as much as AZ and not as many years. This front office hasn't been in control very long, we haven't really seen what their vision of the future is just yet.
Greinke originally left the Angels because the Dodgers offered him a slightly better deal, some Dodger fans may be shocked but I am one of those people who knew he would take the cash at the end of the day. I also brought up the question of whether or not to bring him back on a long term deal at the age of 32 on the Dodgers' board about mid-way through the season, so it wasn't an automatic resigning in my mind.
Yeah, I'd have a hard time rooting for him if he was wearing our laundry.I did not, sounds bad though. The one Dodger I don't wanna see on the Padres, no matter how talented he may be. Class act, right tharAccording to TMZ, Puig pushed his sister during a heated argument, which drew the concern of Blue Martini employees, who attempted to defuse the situation.
Instead of restoring calm, Puig reportedly became enraged and physical with staffers before he was subdued and led out of the bar. Once outside, however, Puig reportedly uncorked a sucker punch to the face of a bouncer before being restrained
