Based on what?
Since becoming a starter in 2012 (ERA/WHIP/IP/K/BB)
2012 - 3.81/1.219/174.2/180/56 (a good #3)
2013 - 4.34/1.348/213.2/214/78 (a bad #3 or OK #4)
2014 - 2.99/1.065/219.9/202/43 (a legit #1)
2015 - 4.96/1.294/214.0/163/49 (a passable #4)
Where do you see "a legit #2" in there?
OMG.
Isn't he like a 3rd or 4th starter?
So why do you think the Dodgers, who presumably print money in the dugout, let him go? They have MUCH deeper pockets than AZ and could have thrown ridiculous money at him. What do you think made them not want to pull the trigger?
I've always been a big Grienke fan, I loved it when the Brewers got him. I've always rooted for him. He plays hard , he hits and fields well and he simply wins. He did go after the money and I don't blame him. I pretty shocked the Giants would want to give Samardzija that type of money. He's got a good arm but I don't think he's been that successful, it pretty much blows my mind.So why do you think the Dodgers, who presumably print money in the dugout, let him go? what do you think? I really don't know. He's starting to get a little older but I still think he's got quite a few good years left in him and he's more of a pitcher than just a thrower. So why do you think the Dodgers, who presumably print money in the dugout, let him go? Yeah, I have no idea either. I'm honestly asking. His head problems can't be that big of an issue still. I think he's one of the best and to have that 1-2 punch of Kershaw & Greinke? Pretty formidable. I wouldn't have minded if the Giants overpaid for him at all. David Price was just a bit cheaper and I would have been PISSED if we got him at that price. Especially for that long. I find it interesting that the Dodgers didn't pull out all the stops for him.what do you think? I really don't know. If he pitches to an ERA under 3 and wins NLCS or WS MVP this upcoming season, then I KNOW the even year titles for the Giants aren't just a coincidence.
Zimm has health concerns. That is the problem with him.I like this deal 5 at 90 million better than the 5 for 110 million the Tigers gave Zimmerman.
That's definitely not something I want to see happen again. Pretty sure it's not just a coincidence if they win it 4 straight even years, but if Shark actually pitches well and makes a strong contribution in the postseason then it definitely isn't.What if Bumgarner wins WS MVP again, still a coincidence?
i dont see any of my claims in that post.

I think there is still every indication that Scrabble should be AT WORST an innings eater. Zimm has the potential to be on paid vacation for the last 3 years of the deal.
I endorse this idea!If the Dodgers need a SP, James Shields is available
Big Game JAMES!!If the Dodgers need a SP, James Shields is available
I'd say he is better than Shark. He's made 32 starts and pitched at least 195 innings in 4 straight seasons and his 3.66 ERA in 2015 was the first time it's been over 3.25 in seasons where he's pitched at least 50 innings. If he stays healthy for the Tigers I'll say it looks like a good deal, maybe a bit of an overpay but a lot of players get overpaid.I like this deal 5 at 90 million better than the 5 for 110 million the Tigers gave Zimmerman.
