the only thing he said that was idiotic was he called it a dust up . the term is riot .
He made an idiotic comparison of two unrelated things, and that's a fact, despite the convoluted spin.

he should be able to express his POV whenever he wants to
In the appropriate way and not minimize what happened on Jan 6th as a "dust up". Everyone is entitled to their opinion until it doesn't line up with anothers. This country has become hypocritically soft and the pride demonstrated decades ago has left the building. We are a country at war, with ourselves. Disgusting imo.

The referred "dust up" resulted in deaths. It's called being apathetic and respectful of those who lost their lives that day for NO reason. JDR must be mindful of that having the platform he does to communicate his opinion nationally. Having said that, he apologized for his choice of words and should not be fined, suspended or lose his job. This is AMERICA, LAND OF THE FREE, HOME OF THE BRAVE!

Should he stay or go? Seems to be point of interest after his twitter comments. Does he lose respect and or commitment from his players?
The one that needs to go is Rivera. People need to grow up and understand not every has to have the same opinion. You woke libtards are insane

Why did you disagree with it?? kneeling is a form of free speech and you claim support for that, correct? BTW: Colin Kapernick does not represent the Marxist fraud MAGA party!! Where are you getting this from?

100K goes to the fund for 1/6. RR must have been getting a lot of heat to do this.
I'm sure he was getting a lot of heat on this; however, Ron Rivera is a lot of things, but "FOOL" isn't one of them. Looking at the faces in his locker room and possibly hearing rumblings, he had to do something!! There's a lot riding on this season for him and he simply couldn't allow this to pass untended. More likely than not the organization got a call from the league informing him to take action or they would.

His (JDR) comments were just another blow to their rapidly sagging reputation as one of the most dysfunctional franchises in professional sports. Rivera simply couldn't allow it. Why?? Consistency!

If we're honest and fair-minded JDR's utterly wrong, dumb-assed comments were a personal insult to Rivera's effort to instill some sort of "culture change" here. JDR is in effect in the same position as the late D. Haskins...fined (but not demoted) for the first offense and I suspect that another will (again like DH) lead to his dismissal.

He made a comparison akin to apples to oranges and the term is not riot, it's insurrection!

Riot applies to the GF murder aftermath, Insurrection applies to Jan 6th, huge difference!

Keep believing that story!!

There was a noose erected to be used on Pelosi and Pence

Christopher Michael Alberts was arrested by Metropolitan police on Jan 6th for carrying a pistol without a license, possession of a firearm on Capital grounds, and other charges. He was formally charged in U.S. District Court on Jan. 7.

Guy Reffitt has been charged with illegally bringing a handgun on Capitol grounds on January 6. Reffitt allegedly told family members he “brought his gun with him” in the Capitol attack.

Mark Ibrahim, who at the time was an off-duty special agent for the Drug Enforcement Administration, has been charged with bringing his service weapon on Capitol grounds during the insurrection as well as lying to the FBI about why he was at the Capitol.

Another individual, Cleveland Meredith Jr., is accused of possessing a pistol and rifle without “a registration for any firearm in Washington, DC,” which were recovered by the FBI a day after the insurrection. According to an official statement, the individual arrived too late for the Capitol riot and talked about killing Pelosi in a text conversation.

Yet another person, Lonnie Coffman, is accused of parking a truck filled with 11 homemade bombs, a handgun, and an assault rifle two blocks away from the Capitol for several hours on January 6. Most of these defendants have pleaded not guilty or say they’ll fight the charges.

Federal prosecutors have also said members of the Oath Keepers, a paramilitary group, likely stored weapons at a hotel in Arlington, Virginia, as part of their plan to have an armed rapid-response force during the January 6 insurrection.

Thomas Webster, a retired New York Police Department officer, was charged with attacking a Metropolitan Police Department officer with a metal flagpole. The federal complaint says he struck at the officer “with the flagpole numerous times.”

Eight others facing civil disorder or property destruction charges also were charged with possessing weapons, according to the police database.

In legal terms, “armed” means being in possession of any weapon, not just a firearm. While there are laws that specifically address firearms, weapons can include virtually any object used to threaten or cause harm.

These are the ones that were arrested and formally charged, how could there not be others?

I do agree jack should probably leave the politics alone because the majority of the fan base are full blown liberals. Politics should be out of sports period!
