Jay Gruden went to bat for Andy Fucking Dalton. He wouldn't know a real QB if it threw a 70 yard pass and hit him in the sack with it.
Interesting. Yet Andy did get you to the Playoffs multiple years. In Jays scheme. Do you give Jay no credit for this? Or is that you dislike Dalton so much? Just curious.

Exactly, there are other questions as well which, BTW, just might spell doom for one Jay Gruden. Chief among them is, did he fail or earnestly work towards transitioning RGIII into the QB that the team hired him in great part to do?

No.

The offense was stale as could be under Gruden. He wasn't a good OC IMO and we went to the playoffs on the back of our defense. Dalton isn't very good and I was really surprised someone hired Jay as a HC. I thought it was a huge mistake and I thought he would fail tbh.

Amazing how perception of people can differ from team to team.

The Jay experiment is still young but there have been some serious question marks noted by Skins fans.

Your opinion may indeed turn out to be right.

He just wasn't creative in Cincy. It was the same thing over and over and it wasn't all that successful. Hue's offense this year, though it did get stale down the stretch, was so much better called than what Jay did.

Appreciate your insight. :thumb:

This season will be quite interesting for us with our QB situation, new coaches and of course Jay.

I've always been a huge RGIII guy. He has shown he can be great, cater your offense to him and let him be great

The problem with Griff is he didn't want to play in a system catered to him. Actually he flat out refused and it is well documented. I haven't given up hope on him yet and hope that there is a middle ground to be found. Hopefully this upcoming year.

coaches always want to end up running their system instead of what the team is fit for and messing it up and blaming others... so sad

I don't care what he refuses tbh. Implement the system. What can he do? Retire?

Well , in our case...his Dad stepped in and made comments about 'no QB who runs is a good QB' and Griff went to social media with his 'I want to be an Aaron Rodgers pocket passer comments' and created a circus media... And garnered himself the reputation with many as a narcissistic coach killer...

I think he can fit a pocket passing scheme, just tailor it around what he does well. Rodgers is athletic, Wilson is athletic. You can be a guy who can run and still have a pocket passing system.

It has been an issue for the Skins to have a stable Coaching staff. Danny Boy has not helped matters.

Well skins fans are hoping that Griffin is beginning to realize that his athletic gifts are meant to be used in a middle ground scenario. This season is a prove it year for him.

I agree, tho I hope Jay is smart enough to know if RGIII fails, he likely fails too and will be on his way out. He better get RGIII in the right situations and going.

I thought the Skins might try to trade RGIII to Philly. He'd fit Kelly's offense. I'd think Kelly would give more for Bob than he did for Brokeford.

LOL at Brokeford!

Can't rule anything out with Chip. And I agree, always thought Griffin would do well in that offense. Especially now with their RB stable.

Don't think that's in the cards at this point however. Be interesting to see what happens if MM is still on the board at 5. Lot of possible drama.

0 chance Snyder lets them take Mariota at 5, nor should they. Build your team, go OL or edge.

Well we know fans opinions mean diddly squat.

New GMSM has a stategy and plan. So far I've been impressed with his acquisitions in FA. Don't know his board, but I do know he's a BPA guy.

And who knows where Danny Boys influence will take over. He's agreed to stand aside, (and seemingly has since MS was here...) even let his boy Rak go this year...

I do think MM is in play, but I tend to agree with you that unless there's some killer trade involved, it isn't going to be DC he comes to.
