Excuse me, @thunderc was responding to you in post #11 (your original post is conspicuously absent, so I'm guessing you deleted it), you originally laid out your list and asked, "Who is Bird replacing?"...and, I told you who he could very conceivably replace. Steph. And I love Steph. But yeah, that list with Bird in place of Steph would be just as, if not more dominant.

I'd trust him more right now given Love's injury history, but Lopez probably declined. Since the Bucks are still playing, he'd basically have to jump right on a plane to Tokyo as soon as the Finals are over.

Sure, I agree, Curry IS the greatest shooter ever, but in Bird you're getting someone who is a pretty damn good shooter himself, as well as someone who can play some damn good defense, a bigger presence on the floor. I think Bird offers more versatility, while being "almost" as good a shooter as Curry

plus the eras were a lot different

no telling what Bird could have done in a wide open era where guys take so many 3's a game. I wouldnt bet against him.

About half of the shots Curry has taken in his career are 3's. About 10% of the shots Bird took in his career were 3's. Its comparing apples to oranges across different eras with different rules.

and of course- overall Bird is a way better player- not really debatable. Not that is what the argument was about- but still.

Bird or Curry is a tough call. Ideally both. But if I have James at the 3 or 4 I'm going Curry if I have to choose. If I was starting a team from scratch and one of the two had to be my number one I'm going Bird

Personally, I see it more Durant or Bird. I go Bird. Now, I'd still pull Curry off the team and replace him with Stockton.

Replace Curry with Durant and you have an unstoppable lineup that is extremely versatile defensively.

Good luck to any team that tries to play a traditional PG against this group.

Because Durant is a really good shooter too.

And he is 7 feet tall and able to defend 2-4 plus provide rim protection.

I like having Curry on the team, but on that team he would be a role player specialist. Not a starter.
