Like MHSL says, it makes infinitely more sense to A. tie it to the bye week, and B. send an east coast team, which loses maybe 8 or 10 less hours of travel in the process. Nonsense all around. Maybe we make too big a deal of it - maybe the players like it - but doesn't seem like it.

I can understand the NFL's desire to promote their product in new markets but I don't think that it needs to be a regular season game.

Play an exhibition or a preseason game. That's what the EPL and other Euro soccer teams do when they come over here to show off the product.
