I think Jagr and his agent had something to do with the drama the last few days.

Some certainly, like his agent claiming he "lost" him basically, but it's getting blown out of proportion based on the way news gets around these days.

Ironic that Svoboda (Jagr's agent) used the word "lost" because that's the same word I would use to describe Svoboda in his own end of the ice...

I think the hold up is now other teams are showing interest in him. But he better know the teams with the offers on the table now won't be waiting long. Shero learned his lesson with Hossa after 08.

At least we're being taught some patience. All I know is that Shero is 100x's more patient than us fans.

Huh? I think Jagr watch is making P66 lose it! ;)

Hahaha, I'm saying that last night once 9pm rolled around Pens fans flipped out saying "AHHH, JAGR IS SO STOOPID! *blah blah blah* Decision today *freaking out and listening to every Russian National Inquirorer article out there*" But Shero will be patient...but probably not past like 2pm tomorrow. If we don't get Jagr AND TK falls through, we have work to do with FA Frenzy/Sizzle as it will be tomorrow.

That would be the one thing that would make me actually hate him.

I still think the Pens have the trump card in Mario. Can you imagine Mario vouching for him, basically convincing Shero it's okay to go after him, then him turning the Pens down for more money? Jags will be burning a bridge quite possibly. With the fans certainly (I wouldn't HATE him, but I'd be fairly upset if he chose only slightly more money to go to say...Detroit), and even with Mario. And he respects Mario too much for that.

Why is this thread still going? We already have a thread saying that the Pens have signed him. :confused2:

Sorry for the bad joke in advance...But I heard Turtles were causing delays at JFK. Then I thought what does Claude Lemieux have to do with anything?

Seriously though this is obviously him trying to get more money. I think he wants to play for Mario but still is more about the money. Nothing changed.

Do you actually think they are still that friendly? They seemed to have enough of each other by the end of Jagr's time there. I certainly do not think its a coincidence that Mario comes back, gets all the credit for anything good that happened on the ice, then suddenly Jagr is dying alive.

Well, what I know from the public discussions had it's fine. Jagr says he loves Mario, that he taught him everything he knows about the game, and that he'd play for him for league minimum awhile back, and they made contact about this before the Pens put an offer in. Mario has backed him in this situation clearly or there wouldn't be an offer.

Hopefully they are getting along, I know at one point they really liked each other and Jagr really looked up to him. I do not think it was any secret they were not getting along at the end but a decade is a lot of time to bury the hatchet.

I'm really starting to dislike his agent. Seriously playing a lot of people. Or he's just a bad agent. At this point he's telling everyone something different. He told DePaoli (who I don't normally trust, but he obviously has the number like everyone does) that a decision would come today, then he told the next guy that there was no timetable, and another that a decision wasn't expected today. He's playing people.
