Whether or not Verlander has ever taken PEDs, this is just beyond ignorant.

“Verlander was like Nolan Ryan, he threw 97, 98, 100 miles an hour from the first inning to the ninth inning. He got that big contract, now he can barely reach 92, 93. What happened to it? He has no arm problems, nothing’s wrong. It’s just the signs are there. The greed ... they juice up, they grab the money and it’s just a free pass to steal is the way I look at it.”

Now this is how we classify whether anybody takes steroids? Tim Lincecum was throwing 97,98, 100 and now throws 88, 92, 93, does it mean he was juicing?

Yeah, pretty weak. If I'm not mistaken he signed his contract in 2010 and won the CYA in 2011 and had a great year last season. Verlander changed up a while ago by not coming out and throwing 98 or 100 to start the games. he paced himself and was throwing 98 at the end of the games. Everything he said about Verlander was ignorant and LAZY, regardless if Verlander has ever taken anything or not

Just curious but does this bias also apply to Phillies players? Do you think Ryan Howard juiced? Chase Utley with his 04-09 power stats?

i mean it's definitely possible, but if i had to take a guess about those two, i would say no. i don't mean to stereotype, but the guy was born and raised in the dominic republic, and came into baseball at the height of the steroid era. i think he juiced in the same way i think mike piazza and larry walker juiced. i have no evidence against them, and no signifcant accusations have been thrown at them, but i do believe they used pd's. could utley and/or howard? sure. so could anyone. i don't personally think they did, but who the hell knows.

and by the way, utley's power didn't fully develop until 2005

Clark has been outspoken about player salaries. Very outspoken. He's a bitter, sad man, and takes it out on guys who've never wronged him. He's purely jealous that players didn't make what they make now when he was playing. That's his motivation here. Pure jealousy.

it kind of reminds me of when oil can boyd went after wade boggs by saying he was racist. both have been forgotten, and want to get their name back in the media by attacking well more popular and famous players.

If Verlander is juicing, everyone is juicing. He wouldn't even be in my top 100 suspects

Yeah, he'd be one of the last i'd even think of. I kinda thought his insane pitch counts were behind his problems.

Pujols is acting like a very guilty man right now.

This case is mirroring Roger Clemens perfectly. We should hear Grand Jury testimony in six months or less.

In almost every case it starts with a trainer and Pujols is no different.

Are the Angels going to sue him for lack of production?

Mark my words, this will end way messier than A-Rod.

And I love the "never been caught" people.

"Albert Pujols has never failed a drug test in his life."

Neither has Barry Bonds or Lance Armstrong.

That's one thing I think you're right about, so I agree with you there.

The thing is, whether or not Pujols is guilty, his career will be tainted by these accusations. Jack Clark is a fool for going on record in the public way that he did with no proof, even if he is 100% right.

The strong denials by Pujols and and his trainer are virtually meaningless because they both know their reputations are finished if they get caught.

If Pujols is truly innocent, then I feel sorry for him. Most of all, however, I feel sorry for baseball fans because until technological advances discover foolproof testing procedures, every elite player will be suspected.

Mihlfield and Pujols are business partners at Millhouse Baseball Academy in KC. I doubt Mihlfield would say something like that about his friend and partner.

all great players are going to be under the PED cloud whether they did anything or not.

Not in 2013. But what about in 2000? Pujols comes in at 20 and hits 37 HRs?

Pujols indignant manifesto sounded like it was prepared by Lance Armstrong. All except the "Jesus Christ" part. :rolleyes2:

Man, that guy is sickening!

Completely irresponsible and evil to suddenly start telling lies on another person, and I have had it to me, so I do believe it's possible that Jack Clark is an asshole liar. Appearantly so do his employers because they fired his ass when Pujols threatened to sue them for slander and if Pujols is telling the truth about being honest - then he should sue their asses and bankrupt them

The radio station did the the right thing - They were about to get the shit sued out of them for Clarks irresponsibility.

You didn't even read the story, dude.

Jack Clark wasn't employed by the station and Pujols wouldn't "sue them" them even if he could. Like Lance Armstrong, he said nothing about "suing them." He said he's going to take "legal action" which is ambiguous. A simple Cease and Desist you can file at your local courthouse for $25 is "legal action." It's intimidation and bullying by a cheater meant to appeal to the simpleton masses. He's sending a message that if you mess with me, I'm going to come after you. It worked for years with Lance Armstrong.

Worked on you, didn't it? :D

I wonder if Armstrong ever brought up his faith in God and family when he was defending himself? If he didn't, I daresay he might be the only one.

It is not a question of intimidation that appeals to so much the validation of his "innocence" to us simpleton masses. It is the outrageous "I know for a fact" when you have a third party source that denies it that renders Clarke's assertion silly, ridiculous and out of place.
