It's time to ask the board: where do we rank Steph Curry all time?

AI undervaluing Curry here. He’s better than Dirk and KD and maybe Moses too. But yeah it’s hard to really compare that area from 8 or so to 20

Russell is obviously wrong and only a robot would think that LOL

AI interestingly is overvaluing AI too

I think you have it right.

Cant put Curry ahead of guys like Kobe. But he is right there because of the impressive accolades and the fact that he changed the game as much as anybody in the history of the league.

The real interesting question is going to be between Curry and KD.

I believe Curry going to end up being higher on most lists because 2 more titles, 1 more MVP.

But we saw them as teammates in their prime and it was pretty obvious who the best player was.

I moved him into my starting 5 of all time this year. Curry, MJ, LeBron, Larry, Kareem. Sorry Magic, I had to move you to the bench.

Kinda sucks how dead this forum is now that funbags and Mecca and BlackAdam and others are basically out

I guess it's all Twitter now
You send something out after 11 central time I’m probably not seeing it until the next morning. But yeah it’s been a little dead.

I asked AI this question(since I’ve never seen Curry play) and it gave me the following list. Since AI is smarter than all of us, I’m going to say he’s 17th overall:
  1. Michael Jordan
  2. LeBron James
  3. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
  4. Bill Russell
  5. Magic Johnson
  6. Larry Bird
  7. Wilt Chamberlain
  8. Shaquille O'Neal
  9. Kobe Bryant
  10. Tim Duncan
  11. Hakeem Olajuwon
  12. Oscar Robertson
  13. Kevin Durant
  14. Charles Barkley
  15. Dirk Nowitzki
  16. Moses Malone
  17. Stephen Curry
  18. Jerry West
  19. Elgin Baylor
  20. Allen Iverson
Why would you think AI is smarter than all of us?

OK so not to make into a top 10 thing but I had to rank guys to decide where to put Steph.

Top 2 obvious. Top 3 really MJ LeBron Kareem in some order. Then you get to the middle, in some order: Magic, Bird, Wilt, Hakeem, Kobe, Shaq right?

I mean after 9 you are right in the 'some order' area of Duncan, Malone, KD, Steph Curry (the OP), Bill Russell, Oscar, right? So Curry fits at 11 reasonably
I'm looking at your list and thinking if I was doing an all time draft I'm taking Curry in that second group and moving Kobe down to the third.

But then I also like KGs all around game better than Malone's as well, too bad he spent so long toiling away in limbo.

I think if you are talking about fitting with a team of great players?

There is a case to be made for Curry in the top 5.

If we are talking about greatest individual players?

Outside the top 10 IMO

If I am building an all time starting 5…

I begin with the best 2 perimeter players and the best big.

MJ, LeBron and Kareem

Then I want 2 players who compliment them best.

Put 2 shooters around those 3?

Good luck.

Steph, MJ, LeBron, KD, Kareem

That would be really hard to beat

Magic, Kobe, Bird, Garnett, Wilt would give them a good game.

I don’t think so honestly

Not enough shooting.

Way easier to guard size with extra bodies than it is to guard dynamic players with shooters around them.

Well…it was just a throwaway comment and not meant to make you feel inferior in any way. That said, I use it a bunch for work and it is. lol.

I can see why AI would underrate him. He is only 33rd all time NBA win shares. 36th if you mix in ABA. In his prime he had the 13th best PER season of all time and is 22nd in career PER. I think he has 7 current(ish) players ahead of him in PER.

Nice to see KG get some love. He was such a force in his prime and he was totally unstoppable. If I’m starting a team, I’m taking Garnett over Barkley. Maybe even Karl Malone. Is that a crazy take?

Thing is that the shooters wouldn't be open.

Garnett translates across era better than those 2.

I would take him also.

  20. Allen Iverson

AI errored out on its group-paste and shoulda had 13-15 after 19 … but that still would have Curry at 14
