Coburn was the best player the Flyers had on the ice all night. And you might want to throw Bob's best friend Mr. Goalpost on there. 4 or 5 critical saves by that guy.

Yep Coburn did play well so did Kimo and Carle but the tools in Pitt wouldn't know any better....seriously kennedy 3rd star? If anything MAF played a whole lot better.

You knew the first Penguin to score in the new arena was going to be up there. Kennedy was one of the 3 stars even if Crosby had 6 goals, Malkin had 5, and Fleury threw a 54 save shutout.

1. BOB
2.GIROUX
3.BRIER...:D

Yeah, I'm buying this as well. That shortie by G was just sick.

All in all, I think we played a little sloppily, but a win is a win. The D is going to need some time to gel, but if Bob can play like this going forward, I think we're in good shape.

FEAR THE BOB!!!

I'll buy that! :D

I'll buy that for a dollar:L

Also think Coburn looks really good. He stood up Sid at the line and planted him. Maybe he realizes that he is a big strong dude.

YES! I've been saying this for awhile.

Pronger = 6'6" 220
Coburn = 6'5" 220

There is no reason why Prongs can't teach him to be a monster as well...

A few years back I used to wish the same thing about Hatcher & Therien.

...and as we all know......it never happened. Except when he was tasked to shadow Jagr, Therien played "small" his entire stupid career. :L

You expect an old Hatcher to teach and even older Therien to play physical? I mean, he was a great defenseman, but not a miracle worker!

Point is, Therien was in the twilight of his career when Hatcher was brought here. Coburn is still 25. And I really think it's paying off. Not since Hatcher have I seen someone just shove Crosby to the ice like a ragdoll the way Coburn did last night. After making a wonderful poke check to boot. I think Kimmo taught him that.
