I know few on here ever agree with my opinion of Bo. For the record, I think he is a good coach who is not learning as fast as most people think he should. What ever.
But this is not about Bo.
It baffles me trying to figure out how Beck, former passing game coordinator for Kansas (and effective too), calls such an ineffective passing game.
While it's obvious that TA is not gonna lead the nation in completion percentage any time soon, the passes that he is asked to make are ridiculous. Can he throw the short crossing route? Who the hell knows? It's hardly ever called. It's either WR screens or deep posts/flies with the occasional drop off to a RB.
You have a strong running game, a QB with a fair arm and above average running skills. How about some misdirection bootleg options? I swear Tracy Wistrom was the last TE who had a reception that wasn't made running down the hash marks.

That's all I got. This was gonna be a lot longer, but I have lost interest in typing.

GBR

Beck is a big problem in my opinion.

But seriously......just because he had a year at Kansas where they were able to put the pieces together doesn't make him qualified to jump to Nebraska as the Offensive Coordinator.

What is interesting, however, is the fact that Tim Beck grew up right next door to Bo Pelini. Childhood besties. Played football out in the yard together and drew up plays in the dirt they both still remember from the 3rd grade.

Now, that very unqualified, very unproven, very unknown man is playing a pretty damn big gig for a pretty damn fucking big program.

And that, my friends, baffles me.

Actually Kansas didn't play OU or Texas when they had that good year.

And with two weeks to prepare, both coordinators coached on cruise control - why the hell didn't Beck have a plan B knowing Ameer might not be effective? Hell, look at what Wisc did to us when they put two weeks into planning for us in the CCG. Beck and Poop are lazy POS' IMO. Would it hurt to change up pass routes once in a while? And Beck supposedly decides who is the person running the Offense. No accountability on either side of the ball what so ever from the top down.

Also, many are saying "Well, the season is almost over." I am more like "FUCK, THE SEASON IS ALMOST OVER!!"

I hate the off season.

i agree Beck is part of the problem, this year more than ever, the play calling has been poor, but I'm not sure some of it isn't TA. We know for a fact he isn't good at getting through progressions, now I've theorized part of the reason for that is the complexity of the offense which falls back on Beck and Bo. Just look at where JT Barrett was at the start of the season and where he is now, they are promoting him for Heisman, but if you look at TA at the start to now, it has looked like regression. how's that happen? we have no dedicated QB coach. I think it was said in another thread, Beck needs to go and we bring in an OC/QB coach, it's the bare minimum Bo needs to do, preferably he fires a couple of other coaches too, but this thread seemed centered on Beck.

I had no problem with Callahan as a coach..but he wouldn't get rid of his asses of coordinators either.

True, but I am a football fan first, so even with Tim Miles and good basketball in the state it is still the off season.

goal wise it's gonna be hard to get to the CCG game now. now if we win out and get to 11-2 it will ease some of the disappointment but that wisky game was a de facto division title game

a 11-2 record is always nice just wish it could have had a CCG visit or division title at least

I think a lot of you underestimate the amount of influence Bo has on the offense. I think it handcuffs Beck. As well as the way Bo chooses to develop (or not develop) the QBs on the team.

Watson, Beck, Carl, Papuchis- all the same story.
