Quit acting like the team is 3-9.

They were 8-4 and just playing for the Big 12 title a week ago.

Mack has stumbled around a bit for the last 4 years, but it has not been an abject failure.

If Saban is not on the table, it really makes ZERO sense to fire Mack Brown for the sake of change.

I am 100% on board and support Coach Brown at this point in time.

He is still RECRUITING has rear end off...... Maybe we finally get lucky with a quarterback that has been an issue for 4 years.

I don't want to end up as freaking Tennessee or Michigan.

The latest commit to Texas mentioned that he was committing to UT and didn't care who his coaches would be.

Wish I could remember who the Texas fan was that told me that "Texas was going to show USC the right way to do a coaching search and hire".

Because I have to admit, they were right this is much more entertaining than how we did ours!!

Horns, with all due respect, we are going to finish 8-5. The only way we beat Oregon is if Oregon is half asleep because they don't want to be there. It definitely won't be a case of the best team has won. 8-5 is HORRIBLE. Don't forget, Mack is the one who said we should be in the running for a national title this year. Also, he may be recruiting his ass off, but he's not getting anyone. I love the fact that he was in Florida this week. Do you really think a 5 star player is going to drive through Alabama to get to Texas? No! What makes you think we are going to be any better next year under Mack? I bet after the first six games, at best we will be 4-2. Probably 3-3 and maybe 2-4. Our only strength is at rb.

I agree with Charlie, I do think he is done. Maybe it's just my wishful thinking, but I thought I saw it in Powers, Patterson's and definitely Sally's face when Mack was speaking. Just get it over with. I just don't agree with waiting this long to announce it. After the bowl game is just too long.

The recruiting "no contact" period starts on Dec 16 and ends Jan 15. That's why it doesn't matter if Mack gets to 'coach' the bowl game. A new coach will be announced and his first to-do will be contacting current commits and HS coaches.

Be careful Texas fans, remember what happened when Michigan was pushing out their coach that had been there for a long time and begging for some how profile name coach who ended up not being their first choice.

I know, but I still think we would be better off with all undecided recruits knowing without a doubt that change was definitely coming to Austin. Common sense says it will be a damn good coach with a good track record that they can have confidence in. Again, I do agree with you and I think you are right about after the bowl game, but things change and he could end up staying. I will need a valium the size of a football to calm me down if that happens.

My guess is that Mack didn't want to make the banquet about him. Anyway, I hope this is for real and it's done.
