The two biggest reasons the Sharks lost the series against the Kings

- Lack of Consistency
- Lacked the physical game

This team needs a coach that has a personality, a drive to succeed and has a knack for motivating his players (aka a Jim Harbaugh, Mark Jackson). Tmac has not been able to establish any kind of consistency with this team in critical times. He is not on the same page as this team and it doesn't help that Doug Wilson's downfall is not understanding a thing about team chemistry.

How do you expect to win a game 7 without playing the whole 60 minutes? Todd plain and simple doesn't have that ability to motivate his players to perform at a high level for that long. The Sharks need a coach that is going to keep that fire going and build motivation and momentum after every win. This team is a cup contender and they can win the Cup with the right coach taking the reigns.

I think the two biggest reasons they lost were world class goaltending by Quick and the lack of secondary scoring (AGAIN). Gomez only bottom six with a point (2A). Sure the Couture line wasn't great and a few more EV goals from the top 6 would have made a difference, but the sharks lack of forward depth showed. Having Torres and Havlat would have allowed for the Sharks to role 3 legitimate scoring lines and that may have made enough of a difference. Hopefully when guys do get injured next season, some of the young guys that are called up will be able to fill roles, because the last few years guys like McCarthy and Kennedy haven't been able to step up and others like Desjardins or Kearns should only play on the 4th line.

I'm obviously disappointed the sharks lost, but it is definitely different then in the past few years. I thought it was a really well fought series between two teams and I can't fault them for losing. Are there holes or things that need to be addressed? Absolutely, but I'm not ready to blame TMac for losing this series.

Lines three and four were a joke because: Havlat sucks, is overpaid, and always injured plus Torres was out with suspension.
Insert Torres back in the lineup and move Pavs to third line center. Get anybody productive in the top 6 in place of Havlat and we are still playing. Burns playing forward took away our best blueline shooter as well.
TMac was playing with a short hand.

I'm surprised they got as far as they did with the lack of offense. Defense and Niemi were very good.
Give Todd credit for putting Burns at forward and helping them even make the playoffs. Also, can't blame him for Havlat getting injured, yet again, and for the bullshit suspension of Torres. I believe that Torres getting screwed cost this team the series.
It isn't the coach....they were a player or 2 short of advancing to the Western Conference Finals. If you wanna fire him, you better have a better option in mind....

I disagree quite a bit.

Yes, he was short a few players and lines 3 and 4 are a joke and that part is not his fault but McLellan is not and will never be a good coach.

There are A TON of better coaches available out there right now.

Any of the big names that just got laid off or are about to be UFA.

Doesn't matter. Anybody will do. Can't be worse than Todd & Jay.

WTF does Doug Wilson see in this guy. My God man the guy is fucking terrible and has no ability to change strategies on the fly or handle line matchups when hes an away team. He puts the 4th line out at the worse times, sits back on leads that constantly get blown & has no clue how to spark the players...

Fuck man I cant believe we have to put up with ANOTHER year of this jackass... But I pretty much knew he would keep his job assoon as they clinched the playoffs

I commend Todd for the turnaround the team had. The team played hard in the LAK series, except in game 5. It's hard for me to say "fire Todd" after the turnaround he had and my inability to name an obvious improvement of a replacement.

I wish we had hired Quenneville when he was jobless.

Im sure everyone on here bashed him when I suggested Q, just like they bash every coaching option available, while bashing Todd...

I hate the guy and would take anything over him (except Jim Wiley), most people hate him but dont want another coach -- kinda baffles me haha

Wheres Constintine these days??

Eh good point. My goldfish could have coached the 2010 Hawks team to a Cup. I just don't know much about the coaches out there to make a nomination. I know I want someone with better motivational skills than Todd, but it's like a chicken and egg thing?

How much is placed on the players? Why do players need to be motivated to give 100%? The Sharks 'compete level' was solid in this year's playoffs. They showed killer instinct in waxing the Nucks. They rebounded midseason to salvage what looked to be a miserable season.
